Our financial system -- like our participatory democracy -- is a mirage. The Federal Reserve purchases $85 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds -- much of it worthless subprime mortgages -- each month. It has been artificially propping up the government and Wall Street like this for five years. It has loaned trillions of dollars at virtually no interest to banks and firms that make money -- because wages are kept low -- by lending it to us at staggering interest rates that can climb to as high as 30 percent. ... Or our corporate oligarchs hoard the money or gamble with it in an overinflated stock market. Estimates put the looting by banks and investment firms of the U.S. Treasury at between $15 trillion and $20 trillion. But none of us know. The figures are not public. And the reason this systematic looting will continue until collapse is that our economy [would] go into a tailspin without this giddy infusion of free cash.

The ecosystem is at the same time disintegrating. Scientists from the International Programme on the State of the Ocean, a few days ago, issued a new report that warned that the oceans are changing faster than anticipated and increasingly becoming inhospitable to life. The oceans, of course, have absorbed much of the excess CO2 and heat from the atmosphere. This absorption is rapidly warming and acidifying ocean waters.

The analogy is an apt one. We are like a ship crew sailing out to sea with a mad captain. The globalists who run the west are clearly mad and we are fearing for our lives. It’s almost as if this is what the media wants... so like mad sailors, we are freaking out about global warming and doomsday scenarios. One man finally stood up to the globalists, and by a fluke of insanity, a large portion of the worried sailors turned on him.

The planet has never experienced a time of greater financial security and peace. Western corporations are for the most part honest, open and community minded. The private sector is rapidly developing clean energy and medical advances. The only real problem is liberalism and it's big brother, socialism.

As the planet begins to convulse with fury, as the senseless greed of limitless capitalist expansion implodes the global economy, as our civil liberties are eviscerated in the name of national security, shackling us to an interconnected security and surveillance state that stretches from Moscow to Istanbul to New York, how shall we endure and resist ?

Western corporations were
for the most part built on the exploitation of other people in the form of slavery and occupation of their land by force. Wall Street equity firms are about to crash the economy 10 times worse than 2008, while the bankers and brokers who perpetrate it will be hiding on beach resorts in Belize and New Zealand, retired millionaires and billionaires.

Built on exploitation? Are you a taking your first class in philosophy? Karl Marx 101?

Really, grow up, without profit there are no wages, benefits or investment. In other words we would look like North Korea. Personally I love being exploited, my lifestyle is wonderful!

Yep, I just got back from skiing in Vail, two weeks before I was skiing in Austria, the wife and I LOVE being exploited. Citizens of Cuba, North Korea and Venezuela are free from exploitation and they're starving. Take your pick.....

Tribal people were NOT complex societies, in fact they were "tribal." Maybe that's why they lost their land to more advanced, "complex" societies.

If it bothers your conscious you can give your property to Tsalagi and move back to Ireland.

Tribal doesn't imply we weren't complex just not technically advanced, just saying

Actually I think it does mean native American tribes were not complex. Other tribes were complex, the Incas and Mayans come to mind. Of course complex didn't help South American tribes, European germs did them in.

Ever been to Cuba? I have. The people of Cuba are not starving, everyone gets food. The quality of their free nationalized healthcare system is better than the healthcare system in the US both in quality of care and cost.

The US wasnt built on exploitation, the transcontinental railroad for example built itself.
Ever notice the only 2 people Trump refuses to speak ill of are Stormy Daniels and Vladimir Putin?

Before the 60s, hardly anything was free in America. Government conditioning and leftist greed changed all that.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

The people in Venezuela and North Korea, liberal utopias are starving. The aggregated gross national income per capita of Cuba is officially $5,539, but the take home salary for most Cubans is around $20 a month. Cubans risk their lives to leave their liberal utopia, why is that? Why would they want to be exploited in the US? Please explain...

This is compounded, the report noted, by increased levels of deoxygenation from nutrient runoffs from farming and climate change.

The scientists called these effects a "deadly trio" that when combined is creating changes in the seas that are unprecedented in the planet’s history. This is their language, not mine.

The scientists wrote that each of the earth’s five known mass extinctions was preceded by at least one [part] of the "deadly trio"—acidification, warming and deoxygenation. They warned that "the next mass extinction" of sea life is already under way, the first in some 55 million years. Or look at the recent research from the University of Hawaii that says global warming is now inevitable, it cannot be stopped but at best slowed, and that over the next 50 years the earth will heat up to levels that will make whole parts of the planet uninhabitable. Tens of millions of people will be displaced and millions of species will be threatened with extinction. The report casts doubt that [cities on or near a coast] such as New York or London will endure.

Free market countries are working hard cleaning up the environmental disasters left over from the failed socialist states like China and the old USSR. It will take a while, relax, capitalism will solve the problem.

The USA is sitting on its' a$$ making it worse with the largest polluter on the planet the US military, while China is cleaning up it's act - phasing out coal and nuclear and investing in solar, wind, high speed rail systems, large-scale hydroelectric plants and wind farms.
