Actually I sold the last of my major holdings a day after the market's rolled over and before I just posted this piece. Now here's some real news for you: Trump Proclaims Tariffs On Steel and Aluminum, And Stocks Sag in Reply; https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/01/business/trump-tariffs.html Looks like old Trumpy is working overtime to kill off his own rally!

The Stock Market isn't the economy. And it's actually just one gigantic casino. But they don't even give you free drinks. what's up with that?

Further to my earlier point, and BTW, this came from a conservative news organ: Trump’s Tariff Folly https://www.wsj.com/articles/trumps-tariff-folly-1519950205 "Donald Trump made the biggest policy blunder of his Presidency Thursday by announcing that next week he’ll impose tariffs of 25% on imported steel and 10% on aluminum. This tax increase will punish American workers, invite retaliation that will harm U.S. exports, divide his political coalition at home, anger allies abroad, and undermine his tax and regulatory reforms. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.7% on the news, as investors absorbed the self-inflicted folly." |

What no overly effusive claim that markets are rebounding today?

And notes and bonds are at 5 year highs. It is really simple. Money has to flow somewhere. It does not simply evaporate. It makes no difference if the stock market goes down or up. Which where your ignorance is painfully glaring. The money is somewhere you are not looking. |

Speaking of ignorance, this post is about the cratering of the Trump stock market bubble, not about the bond markets, the forward freight contracts markets, the currency markets, the oil contango, the futures markets, ad infinitum!!!!! |

This is what proves that you are a moron. The stock market is not as one dimensional as you see it to be. I think the total financial process is too complex for you to understand, I get that. But I am not sure if you have the ability to understand the total picture here. Or that you are unwilling to comprehend it. |

Spoken like the true Trumpian novitiate that you are. I happen to know the fixed income market quite well as I once worked in New York as an intra-market broker. Yes my little novitiate there is a relationship between markets but Trump wasn't credited with driving up the bond market or any market other than the stock market, what this post is about. Please try to stay focused and hone in on the essence of the argument in the future. Don't let your adoration of the flawed Mr. Trump poison your ability to reason and employ logic in your analysis or in constructing your replies. Your dismissed for now, good night my little novitiate!

Seems like you've gone to ground with this prolonged stock market slide. Why is that?

Hey La Pa, question for you (this isn't a trick) Where does currency come from? |

"Money is an indirect form of exchange that arises spontaneously through individuals subjectively valuing whatever it is that they are exchanging. In a free society, competing currencies would actually be healthy. However, in a society where there is a government created monopoly over the type of money that can be exchanged, competing currencies are perceived as a threat by those who hold that monopoly." Now with the fact that the trump Rally is over? |

So you do admit that this is now Trump's market? Other left lug nuts have said this market is lasting effects from Obama's administration. I ask this because the market begins to climb to new records I want to come back to this and rub your statement in your misguided face. Fair enough? |

For whatever reason our offices calendar is booked through next week. Mostly buyers because they have to reinvest their RMDs, have not taken advantage of their 2017 IRA contributions, annuities are up as are CDs, and they seem to have extra cash with no place to go. My advisor has had very profitable week this week. I don't think he is going to complain about a 700 point drop. I think it a pity that many of you do not understand the dynamics of the markets. If you did you'de appreciate the system maybe to your advantage?

Markets are off this morning all around the world between 1.5% to 2%+ U.S. Futures are pointing to a down 200+ point Dow opening. The only positive is oil and gold futures are up. Even bond prices appear to be set for a lower open. |
