Market up, Obama's economy.
Market down, Trump's economy.

That's what leftists are saying.
Nope just pointing out what's actually happening:

Dow's roughly 724-point decline marks worst 1-day stumble in 6 weeks - MarketWatch - 4:13 PM ET 3/22/2018

Wall Street suffers biggest drop in six weeks on China tariffs - Reuters - 4:20 PM ET 3/22/2018

U.S. stocks end sharply lower on trade war fears - MarketWatch - 4:06 PM ET 3/22/2018

Yup "Trade wars are easy to win."

:spat: :spat: :spat: :spat: :spat: :spat:

For whatever reason our offices calendar is booked through next week. Mostly buyers because they have to reinvest their RMDs, have not taken advantage of their 2017 IRA contributions, annuities are up as are CDs, and they seem to have extra cash with no place to go. My advisor has had very profitable week this week. I don't think he is going to complain about a 700 point drop. I think it a pity that many of you do not understand the dynamics of the markets. If you did you'de appreciate the system maybe to your advantage? :dunno:
Whoooooopeeeeee look at the rally:

Close Update: Wall Street Skids Into Close With Dow Plunging to Almost Four-Month Low BY MT Newswires — 4:23 PM ET 03/23/2018;
https://eresearch.fidelity.com/eresearch/evaluate/news/basicNewsStory

BTW your advisor is making money on both ends of your trades.

You'd be better off just buying index funds seeing as 95% of the money managers fail to beat the baseline indexes anyway and those that do don't necessarily do so year in and year out. Also, the transaction costs for buying the indexes is much lower than that charged by fund managers and advisors.

This post of yours is really RELEVANT to the topic under discussion isn't it!

Now a dose of reality for you, from conservative media, none the less:

U.S. Stocks End Worst Week in Years; https://www.wsj.com/articles/stocks-slide-as-trump-kicks-off-trade-war-1521765378

"Rocky stretch of trading amplifies investors’ concerns about possible trade war...U.S. stocks suffered their worst week in more than two years, signaling mounting investor anxiety over whether factors from restrictive trade policies to rising interest rates could disrupt the nine-year bull market."

Now note two things here:

1) The WSJ notes it's a nine year bull market and Trump's only been in office for 141/2 months so that means this bull market started under Obama by a long shot.

2) Who's starting the Trade War: TRUMP!

The markets have rolled over, let your emotional attachment to Trump guide your investment decisions and you'll just keep on losing money.

You are a no nothing when it comes to financial logic and savy. I have been in the finance business for years. My group is successful everyday of the year no matter what happens. On Saturday the financial advisor, a seasoned and successful advisor, on my team asked me if I would meet with him and two of his clients who were concerned about the market drop to explain to them why they should not be concerned. After that meeting, and this is not incidental, they left and said they will return to add additional funds to their portfolios. He and I are responsible for our companies high net worth clients. People who have ten times more money than you ever hope to have. We are good. You, I don't know what you are. A troll most likely. But most certainly your perspective on this is really bad.

You say you're an investment professional yet you denigrate the use of technical charts, no how comical is that.

Seems like you must be working for the kind of firm that Schwab lampoons in it's television ads, you know the guys who charge high fees no matter what their performance!

How's that Trump stock market rally shaping up?:

Wall Street gives up 2018 gains amid tech selloff, trade fears - By Stephen Culp, Reuters - 3:37 PM ET 4/2/2018; https://www.fidelity.com/news/article/top-news/

"Wall Street shares nosedived on Monday, with the Dow falling to its lowest level of the year and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each poised for the biggest daily percentage drop since February 8, as investors fled technology stocks and trade war fears were stoked anew.

The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped below their 200-day averages driven by a drops in Amazon.com , Tesla , Microsoft , among others, sidelining the retaliatory trade measures China unveiled on Sunday."

Stocks plummet as tech, Amazon lead broad selloff; Nasdaq negative for 2018 - By Ryan Vlastelica, MarketWatch - 4:24 PM ET 4/2/2018; https://www.fidelity.com/news/article/us-markets/

"U.S. stocks fell sharply Monday, in the latest example of heavy intraday volatility driven by both uncertainty surrounding trade policy and weakness in the large-capitalization technology and internet sectors.

The day's weakness was broad-based, with all 11 S&P 500 sectors dropping and eight of them shedding more than 2%. There was particular weakness in the technology and consumer-discretionary sectors, which took the Nasdaq into negative territory for the year and brought it within striking distance of closing in correction territory, defined as a 10% drop from a peak.

In an ominous sign for where equities may be headed, the S&P 500 closed below its 200-day moving average (http:// www.marketwatch.com/story/stock-selloff-threatens-lengthy-stretch-above-key-technical-level-2018-04-02) for the first time since June 2016, after the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. That closely watched technical level - - which the Dow nearly closed below as well -- is seen as a gauge of the long-term momentum in an asset."
