JERUSALEM — The Israeli police recommended on Tuesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be charged with bribery, fraud and breach of trust, casting a pall over the future of a tenacious leader who has become almost synonymous with his country. The announcement instantly raised doubts about his ability to stay in office.

Bibi has been PM for a long time. These accusations are nothing new. Corruption and misdeeds have been endemic in the administration since Likud phased out the Zionists' socialism for the US-style oligarchy in which a score of very wealth US-Israel Jewish families control the economy. These same billionaires control the AIPAC lobby in the US Congress and have continued the old Exodus movie image of Israel as a heroic young nation of freedom fighters escaped from the Holocaust. Israel today is a very different country.

Allegations against Netanyahu have been endemic for several years....The Reform Jews have been unsuccessful in their coup attempts....It reminds me of the way Trump is treated in America....Didn't you predict that BiBi was going to lose the last election ???..............

Bibi has been in office too long. Yes, he's guilty as charged, but he was guilty years ago when he was a hero. Now, the unalterable fact of life in Israel: that the Arabs are not going away, has overcast his glory. The American conservatives, long in bed with Likud, have allowed the Israel situation to decay as it inevitably must. Likud isn't going to give up an inch of Eretz Israel and the turmoil rocking the Arab world has removed the moderate leaders who could convince their people to give it a try.

History will show Israel to have been just another Crusader state. It will still take a while but the alternatives are fading over the horizon.
