From the link

“He and many of these other students are being used as marionettes by the far left and deep state because they were able to run out of a building. There is no credibility there and it’s disgusting to watch,” he said.
——-

Not mentioned the disgusting spectacle of the mutilated and bloodied bodies of the students and faculty slaughtered in this latest (but not last) massacre.

And that is what Is truly disgusting.
The pictures should be published for all to see what those guns do in real life

Nothing in journalism can explain this obscene dismissal of the tragedy. It is reminiscent of the writers who dismissed the Sandy Hook massacre as a hoax. Three quarters of people who read it will react to the story as a disgusting lie. They are right, of course, but that misses the point. This school of fanatic journalism is aimed at the hardest of the hard-core gun nuts. To understand why someone would want to deliver such a message and how its intended recipients accept it, one has to look at something like the ISIS propaganda broadcast in order to enlist suicide bombers. The fanatics who receive either message don't ask if it is true or if it fits in with what they know about life. The message stimulates a near-mystic experience of justified hatred sublimated into virtue.

Messages of this type work with the hard-core; everyone else is disgusted. Trump made a serious blunder when he adopted this kind of presentation speaking about John McCain who, he said, was not a hero because he was captured. People were shocked; those swept away with adoration for Trump and hatred for any who do not share their worship, found the statement inspiring and delightful. It made Donald Trump a hero instead of his opponent.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/pro-trump-journalist-defends-hit-piece-florida-shooting-202737427.html

btw The media is free to trot out hand-picked kids to use emotional blackmail to try and get us to surrender our rights.
We are free to tell them "No."

Nice opinion piece though...

It’s a disgusting gang of losers that are going to these lengths to trivialize this lastest (not last) tragedy.

The significance of firearm ownership is unlike any of the everyday consumer products which we buy for "normal" reasons such as convenience, status etc. To be sure, there are still very large numbers of guys who own long guns for hunting and a much smaller number who own handguns for security etc. These are people who use guns for a purpose.

The gun nuts are a large special branch of the gun collectors. Their interest is not in museum piece muskets, the guns they collect are the most widely sold models. The outstanding feature is the number of guns owned: half a dozen is child's play for these guys. When the cops finally but in, it is not unknown for them to find ten times that number. This is the fetish and the obsession of the gun nut.

Former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) suggested on Tuesday that left-wing organizations ― like the one run by billionaire and liberal activist George Soros, a favorite boogeyman of the right ― were using the students who survived the Parkland shooting to advance their gun reform cause.

“Their sorrow can very easily be hijacked by left-wing groups who have an agenda,” Kingston said on CNN’s “New Day.”

“Do we really think 17-year-olds on their own are going to plan a nationwide rally?” added the conservative activist, who is also the CNN contributor.

Angry student survivors quickly responded to Kingston’s remarks, rejecting the notion they aren’t able to speak and think on their own.

“I think it’s very despicable that he would even have the audacity to say that,” student survivor Brandon Abzug said. “Especially in the wake of a tragedy, we really show who we truly are. Just because we’re young we can’t make a difference is not right.”

An aide to Florida state Rep. Shawn Harrison (R) on Tuesday dismissed a pair of outspoken Parkland students as attention-seeking “actors.”
