A video has emerged purportedly showing two Su-57s operating from Russia’s Khmeimim Airbase in Syria. If genuine, the video will have documented the fifth-generation fighter’s first combat drill.

Can the engines of the Su-57 be repaired in the field, or must they be sent back to Sukhoi for repairs?

Well, I hope it is true. I would not have thought that Russia would put their new bird in such a radar and intel gathering saturated environment.

Then again, it might be a good test for the new airframes so I can't say that I blame them.
People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would do them harm.

Prototypes... Still in operational testing... you have 10 Prototypes...One that was heavily damaged in a fire, and have had them testing for 10 years.

Operational units wont be around for years... ansd India gets a bunch of the first batch as well...

So really...The SU-57 is just being tested for Radar Cross Section in a combat environment..

They are a decade or more from actual full unit deployment...
Trump needs to focus more so on the male vote. He should have nationalized the Boy Scouts when they decided to admit girls.

The Engines most likely have to go back to Sukhoi for repairs and rebuilds

Sounds like our great F-35, but the SU-57 costs 1/3 to build........

with 1/3 the technical support...

Upkeep is the Key ...

Russia always fails to maintain her equipment...

Plane crash is quite frequent inside Russia. I am surprised they haven't blame the West yet.
