Quoting limited to 5 levels deepIf 1 person makes a billion a year, his secretary shouldn't have to pay more in taxesToo late ...the ship already sailed.

How can we get back trillions in wealth stolen from us that's already been off-shored by raising taxes in the billions now ?

How can you regulate the Wall Street banks when the government works for them ?
$20 trillion in wealth taken from US citizens...yeah it includes me Clyde.
We're still waiting for the great Reaganomics "trickle down" -- so far we've just been pissed on.

Not including the National Debt, the gradual shift in wealth from the bottom 90 % to the top 10 % ( primarily the top .1 % or- 1/10th of 1 % ) has been over $20 trillion, and this is a conservative estimate.

Much of it is lost, hidden and/or unaccounted for, but you only have to ask 2 questions. Why is our infrastucture crumbling at the same time that we have an unprecedented number of billionaires and millionaires ? Keeping in mind that there were no billionaires in 1980.
The government's inability to maintain our infrastructure despite the countless billions they take from us has nothing to do with successful companies like Microsoft growing in value.

Companies don't make money by stealing it from others, they make money by offering products people WILLINGLY purchase. I just bought a new car, should I claim GM stole my money?

If you're concerned about theft you should really look at the actions of government, the STOLE more money from the wife and I last year than we spent on our mortgage, car payment and utilities COMBINED? I got what for it? Bad roads, bad schools and penniless retirement program?
Socialists are some greedy bastards aren't they.....
Meanwhile, what's the biggest drain on the economy ? Wars in the middle east and homeland security that us terrible progressives never voted for . Did we ?
What's the biggest drain on the economy? That's easy enough, unfunded entitlements, interest on the debt and welfare spending, just look at where our money goes.

The ME wars were indeed way too expensive but that's pocket change compared to entitlement spending. Our social security unfunded liability is more than all wars COMBINED.

LBJ and Dick started stealing from the SS trust fund to pay for their Vietnam war and by the end of the 70's Carter was on track to reverse that and alleviate the debt, which was only $900 billion before Reagan took over and tripled it in his first term.

No president stole from social security except for maybe Obama, he's the only one that lowered social security contributions but I would not call that stealing. Reagan should be credited with saving social security.

That said you do realize all excess social security contributions have been spent and replaced with IOU's since it's inception? That is the way the law was written. It was a Ponzi scheme from day one. I suggest you look at the original law.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) introduced a bill on Thursday to expand Social Security benefits by lifting the cap on earnings subject to payroll taxes.

The progressive lawmakers presented their proposal on the day that Americans with wages of $1 million or more stop paying into Social Security for the year.

Workers now contribute to Social Security based on the first $127,200 they earn every year. The new legislation would apply the 6.2-percent payroll tax to ordinary earnings of $250,000 or more, as well as to unearned income, like capital gains and dividends, above that threshold.

Rather than increase benefits for those high-earning workers based on their additional contributions, the bill would use the revenue to extend Social Security’s solvency until 2078, and to boost benefits across the board with a disproportionate impact on low earners.

“We can expand benefits, we can extend the life of Social Security, if we have the guts to tell the millionaires and billionaires, yes, they are going to have to pay a bit more in taxes,” Sanders said at a press conference on Capitol Hill.

So it was done under a rigged system of offshore tax havens and manipulating the laws in their favor, that's what. I don't own 5 Lamborghinis and 3 homes but I'm very comfortable with where I'm at, and worked my a$$ off to get here.

When the TEA party finally wakes up and joins our side, then we'll get rid of the 2 party oligarchy in DC. You need to quit believing the right wing think tank echo chamber of lies.

These ^^^ ignorant claims and baseless slanders are to be expected from the right wing mud slingers. The millions of enthusiastic supporters of Sanders could care less, except that by their witless hostility, Trump fanatics seem to prove Sanders' analysis of what is wrong in America (not wrong with America, wrong in America).

Sanders ran a better campaign than Hillary and actually raised more money. His criticism of the corrupt Republican oligarchy that dominates the government resonated with tens of millions of Americans and now, after a year of Trump, seems more true than ever before.

Sanders' key platform laws, Medicare for All, free state college tuition, pro-active environmental regulation, equal rights and social justice have become mainstream positions in the Democratic Party as the demographic shift has sharpened frustration with the failure of the party establishment to prevent Trump and the Russians from taking over. The hysterical disbelief of the conservatives who cannot even spell "Democratic Party" is mere comic relief.
Conservatism is a social disease
