The cold hard facts of life under the US constitution are that the States hold the real power....Not Washington It's all a game of "pass the parcel".... Just let Washington deal with the tough unpopular decisions....When the States have the quick fix at hand....Power to pass a State Law.... When anything is passed back to the Capitol....Nothing happens because of State rights....So just blame the current President.... If a bill hit the Capitol tomorrow dealing "with the sky is blue and the grass is green" the Capitol would not deal with it because each State is different.... So the Capitol would pass some gobbledexxxx version that would be held up in court by Judge shopping.... The current Gun debate could easily be dealt with by the States....But being controversial...."pass the parcel" March on Washington instead.... :oyvey |

As much as I dislike the Westminster System.....Australia has a thing called a "Double Dissolution" "the simultaneous dissolution of the upper and lower houses of parliament preparatory to an election, used to resolve a deadlock between the houses." Could give our Washington Congress some balls.... |
