Vatican: Don’t trust report that Pope Francis denied reality of hell

Wow. This weird Argentinian Pope has really "stepped into it." This is an especially strange series of missteps, especially during the Holy Week, and on this Good Friday. The guy is hanging around, and has plenty of time for, people like Scalfari, a self described atheist, yet doesn't have the time to explain this bizarre series of events other than to say, my words were "reconstructed" by said atheist. Huh? What...? Is this for real? That's it, that's all he has to say on the matter? Again, ...wow. Pope Francis will be the talk of MANY Catholic's attending mass around the world over Easter (in the billions) on WHAT exactly he did mean. Is there a hell, or isn't there a hell? It goes to the very heart of Christianity, and is constantly mentioned in the "new" Testament by the four Gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. A brief thought here... For most Christians, the idea of eternal justice is central to their beliefs. It has to be. God WILL punish the sinners. The terrible, terrible acts of violence/depravity/killings committed by the evil and wicked, throughout the ages and time, will be punished by eternal damnation. It gives Christian's a sense of righteousness, fairness. There is a Judgement Day! If Pope Francis doesn't believe in that either (pause here....), he should wander down to the Sistine Chapel sometime over Easter and stare at the back wall for inspiration, Michelangelo's back wall, where figures are painted in very graphic detail depicting who goes up, and who goes down (so to speak) by the guy (God) in the middle. Damnation. Fire and brimstone. Justice. If Pope Francis doesn't believe in hell, he has a lot of x'plainin to do.... Nero, he got away with it. Ghengis Khan, he got away with it. Attila the Hun, he got away with it. Napoleon, he got away with it. Vladimir Lenin, he got away with it. Adolph Hitler, he got away with it. Joseph Stalin, he got away with it. Hillary Clinton, she got away with it. Mao Tse Tung, he got away with it. Pol Pot, he got away with it. Mozart Edited by W A Mozart, Mar 30 2018, 08:43 AM.

Judgement Day, .....er, today? Oh-oh, now He's mad...... ...."GOD ALL-FRIGHTY Vatican worshippers showered with falling chunks of plaster from ceiling of St Peter’s Basilica – as Pope denies Hell exists The Vatican was forced to seal off part of the basilica after chunks of plaster rained down on tourists." .... https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5934572/pope-vatican-worshippers-st-peters-basilica-plaster-hell/ ![]() Mozart |

Ahem, ... take the time to look-up 'where that quote came from.' It was Georgie....! A typical Friday night football game where members of the "Young Socialists/Marxists of (insert high school name here: _____)" are NOT invited to the dance after the game..... ...."His ilk cannot grasp that a presidential election is not the same class of win as a high school football game. The end of the football game marks the end of the contest. Presidential election, especially by such a fluke as brought Trump to the White House, is not the end of the contest, it is the beginning." ... Yes, but, we get to take home the game trophy, all attend the 'mixer' after the game and get to dance with a bodacious 17 year old cheerleader, ...and her friends! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8O79uP0JmM Mozart |

In this case the far-right geek got it right and the far-left geek (or rightie troll) got it wrong. Let's talk about Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn ... |

For the Righties at the beginning of this thread that denounced the Pope as denying Satan or evil. He did not. What was reported was Hell but no where in that story does it say he said evil or Satan does not exist. |

Watching evangelicals whose theology was limited to Sunday school trying to engage with the theology of Pope Francis is a bit like a conversation between kids in a high school physics class and an expert in quantum physics. The two sides are so far apart in knowledge that dialogue is practically impossible. Of course, our Bible thumpers hate Francis because they think he is some sort of Communist, but the real stumbling block is that his is a religion of love while theirs is the angry father figure of the OT punishing liberals for sex. |

Reflections on the Pope, on Holy Saturday, over morning coffee..... The Brasilians, the late Frank Sinatra and even the current Pope Francis (!) (so I'm told) want us to be drinking more morning coffee You bet. As a matter of fact, if we refuse to do so, and thus lead a sinful life, the Pope has issued an edict in the Vatican's Evangelium Vitae, dutifully noting that we will thus "disappear" when we die..... :oyvey (Er, I think that's what he said, in Latin, ..er, let me get back to you on that one... )https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJIrDkzfIqo First, as per the comments above, of course the Pope would deny having said such a thing. Don't be silly. That's the point of the uproar. He was "actually" forced to deny that he said it. Stunning, ...breathtaking stuff. If THAT statement, published in an interview with the Pope Francis by a self-described atheist, were NOT denied, the Pope, the Swiss Guard, the nuns and all the worker's in the smallest country on earth, the Vatican, may as well pack-up their bags, paintings and sculptures and move to Argentina. Although, although I don't know how-in-the-hell they're gonna be able to move Michelangelo's David in the process. That rascal has got to be, what, 30 feet from head to toe? To Argentina! I understand that Che has a spare bedroom or two in his basement, .... .The more interesting point here is what was NOT said in the denial. It wasn't like Pope Francis re-affirmed the existence of Hell. It was a kind of shuffling of feet, a non-denial, denial. It was strange. It was weird. One of the basic tenants of Christianity and the Pope didn't know how to defend it. I mean, like, it's in the bible fer Chrissakes....! Did HE really believe what he "may have" told his atheist friend? Making-up Christian doctrine as he goes along? Just like liberals/commies make-up morality, all the time, as they go along? The parallels are what are interesting here. This is a 'far' left-wing Pope. Thoroughly indoctrinated in the gibberish of South American leftism. Kinda like incorporating "some of the good points" of the voodoo religion, santeria, with Catholic doctrine. But, only the good points, .... . Weird. Strange.... ) compares book burning from around the world (read: Russia), with the US by introducing a half-wit Professor (wretch here.... :oyvey ) on the subject, is just hilarious. Really? Comparable, are they? The guy on the tape was UPSET because no one was paying attention to HIS five favorite anti-American books, ...sniff, ...sniff. One could also ask the ding-a-ling RT "correspondent" as to how many copies of Robert Conquest's "The Great Terror" has she spotted in Moscow's book stores?
