The Democratic Party on Friday filed a multimillion-dollar federal lawsuit against Trump campaign officials, the Russian government and WikiLeaks alleging a widespread conspiracy to tilt the 2016 election in Donald Trump's favor.
Calling it an “all-out assault on our democracy,” the Democratic National Committee filed the civil suit in federal district court in Manhattan. The suit amounts to another legal broadside related to the 2016 race, on top of the special counsel's ongoing Russia probe and the FBI raid on Trump's personal attorney last week.
"The conspiracy constituted an act of previously unimaginable treachery: the campaign of the presidential nominee of a major party in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the Presidency," the suit states.
It claims that Trump campaign officials worked in tandem with the Russian government and its military spy agency to bring down Hillary Clinton by hacking into the computer networks of the DNC and spreading stolen material.

In a few short years when historians look back at our time, and our place in history, they will be left wondering how the human race had regressed to such a level of utter stupidity. Was our DNA contaminated? Was there too much inbreeding which led to a dramatic drop in IQ scores?
The DNC, ...pause here for a moment, ...actually filed a lawsuit today, in a federal court, claiming that they wuz robbed of the 2016 election. Really. I'm not kidding. It actually happened.
The human race is doomed.....

I posted a thread on this in OP - keep in mind that the DNC is bankrupt. Maybe they are suing in a last ditch effort to fund themselves before they go belly up?

It is a well-understood pattern in warfare that the defeated enemy learns from his loss while the victor rests on his laurels in a cloud of self-congratulation. The establishment politicians in both major parties were completely blindsided by Trump. Both Republican and Democratic leaders thought Trump was a joke and the idea of his winning the GOP nomination -- much less the presidential election -- a laughable impossibility.
Well, they have both received as stunning defeat and the next step is to learn from it. So far, the Republican establishment hasn't even tried. They are in glum defeat and retiring from Congress in record numbers, ending the civil war and leaving the Republican Party firmly in the hands of Donald Trump.
The Democrats have taken a different path. The are adopting the technique that the Republican Congress from 2012 used with success in stalling Obama's presidency and which Trump used to win the nomination and the presidency in 2016.
What is this magic tactic of political warfare? Fake news, false propaganda and, above all, endless scandals, real or imagined, and non-stop investigations, all of which combine to flood the news media 24/7 with negative information about the opponent. Trump is a ripe target for this kind of political warfare. His history is filled with shady characters and deals. Some of his closest advisors have sketchy records and amazing ties with Russia. So far it's working.

The DNC may not have learned a lot from 2016 but they did learn a lot from their civil suit against Nixon. They won and got $750,000 in damages for their claim that the Watergate crime cost them the election. This suit, claiming that RNC crimes cost them the 2016 election is quite parallel.
The Nixon suit isn't well known because the decision was handed down the same that Nixon resigned, so the DNC story was stepped on.

The DNC is suing the corrupt RNC just like they did a few days after the Watergate break-in, where the DNC sued the pants off the RNC, and won. Where the DNC received a 750K settlement on the same day Nixon resigned.

That ^^^ is an important point. When the Watergate suit was filed it wasn't known the full extent of the "third-rate burglary or just who was involved." Finding out was the big point of the suit. The same is true in this case. A crime was definitely committed by hacking the DNC and other sites. Who was behind it and who was involved? That's what the suit is all about.

Russia didn't "hack" the DNC server. It was an inside leaker. Mueller is done.
