WASHINGTON — President Trump acknowledged Tuesday that Ronny L. Jackson, his nominee to lead the Veterans Affairs Department, is in serious trouble amid allegations that he oversaw a hostile work environment as the White House doctor, allowed the overprescribing of drugs and possibly drank on the job.

Speaking at a news conference with the president of France, Mr. Trump strongly defended Mr. Jackson as “one of the finest people that I have met,” but he hinted that Dr. Jackson might soon withdraw from consideration, blaming Democrats for mounting an unfair attack on his nominee’s record.

Trump seems to have the worst personnel skills of anyone in public life. It is no surprise that none of his fans have jobs.

If you had to give Trump a physical you would want to drink too.

But seriously, Trump's handling of appointing nominees is a disaster. His candidates are not vetted, the office is staffed with unskilled kids and he has had to either retract or fire a historical number of appointees. He may be good a "firing" people but he wouldn't have to if he was at all skilled at hiring people.

Trump has no idea of who POTUS is or what he does. Separation of powers is a concept he cannot grasp. Without his Kremlin advisors the poor old guy is utterly lost.

Trump praises Kim Jong Un as honorable, refuses to explain why

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said Tuesday that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un -- the man he once mocked as "Little Rocket Man" -- "has really been very open and I think very honorable based on what we are seeing" as the two gear up for an anticipated face-to-face meeting in the coming weeks.

He didn't expand further when asked to explain his comment that Kim is an "honorable" person, sidestepping the question.

So Jackson has never managed a department of any size and drinks excessively on the job, and Trump blames the Democrats?
Without geometry, life is pointless.

He blames the Democrats for questioning his presidential decision to put someone he thinks is a great in charge of the VA. Inexperience or boozing on the job aren't important. All the guy has to do is follow Trumps orders when Sean Hannity delivers them.

Jackson needs to get his own life in order, imagine an alcoholic medical doctor in this day and age whos still in uniform, as a presidential physician no less, only an idiot like Trump would tolerate this.

I can't imagine the DNC nominating a falling down drunk and apologist for a rapist, who collects tens of million of dollars for her family trust from foreigners...Hillary was a higher risk to America........... :oyvey

When their world falls apart, the superstitious peasantry go on a hunt for the witches responsible for the misery they feel but cannot control. Trump has made Mrs. Clinton into a witch in the imagination of his confused followers. Blame her for everything that hurts you. It will help you feel better. That is the leadership message of the President of the United States. Sick and pathetic

It was all a sham.....a good man slimed....

"Over the last 48 hours, media outlets have alleged that U.S. Secret Service personnel were forced to intervene during a Presidential foreign travel assignment in order to prevent disturbing (former) President Barack Obama," The Secret Service released in a statement. "The Secret Service has no such record of any incident; specifically, any incident involving Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson. A thorough review of internal documents related to all Presidential foreign travel that occurred in 2015, in addition to interviews of personnel who were present during foreign travel that occurred during the same time frame, has resulted in no information that would indicate the allegation is accurate."

"The physical health and wellbeing of Secret Service personnel when fulfilling our protective mission is of paramount importance to the Secret Service. Rear Admiral Jackson, in his role as the official White House Physician, has provided years of dedicated support to the men and women of the Secret Service, often miles from home and under difficult travel conditions, in order to ensure our personnel are healthy and prepared to execute our critical mission," the statement continues. "The Secret Service is grateful for the dedicated and outstanding professional service Rear Admiral Jackson has provided to the agency - and more importantly -his role supporting the greater residential protection security apparatus."

House Republicans are demanding a nominee who will agree to privatization of the VA. Neither Jackson nor his predecessor would go along. Veterans groups are skeptical and conservatives don't want open debate on the subject. Hence the behind-the-scenes knife fight.
