Linda Vester had a reputation for covering tough stories. As a war correspondent for NBC News in the ’90s, she spent three tours of duty in the Middle East and took two assignments in Africa.

But as it turned out, her biggest battle at work wasn’t in the field. She says it was as a victim of sexual harassment by Tom Brokaw, the legendary newsman who manned the anchor desk for “NBC Nightly News” for 22 years and hosted “Today” and “Meet the Press.”

In a series of interviews with Variety conducted over several months, Vester alleged that Brokaw physically tried to force her to kiss him on two separate occasions, groped her in a NBC conference room and showed up at her hotel room uninvited. Two friends who Vester told at the time corroborated her story with Variety, and she shared her journal entries from the time period. Brokaw, who has been married to Meredith Auld since 1962, has never before been publicly accused of sexual harassment.

In a statement from him supplied by a NBC News spokesman, Brokaw said of the allegations, “I met with Linda Vester on two occasions, both at her request, 23 years ago because she wanted advice with respect to her career at NBC. The meetings were brief, cordial and appropriate, and despite Linda’s allegations, I made no romantic overtures towards her at that time or any other.”

Vester, who was 28 at the time of the alleged incident, says she didn’t report Brokaw’s conduct to the police or NBC human resources because she was scared it would end her career. She left NBC in 1999 and went on to anchor her own show on Fox News through 2006.

Will Tom Brokaw be back on the air at NBC? ....I Dunno.

Tom Brokaw appears to have been a clean-cut, Nebraska-born-and-raised (like Johnny Carson) kid who was turned into a superstar by television. This guy, ...had power. Dominated television from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. Made history. He was the guy who asked Gunter Schawbowski at an East German press conference on November 9th, 1989 whether or not the Germans fleeing the DDR could now avoid travelling all the way to Prague to cross the border, but just wander on over to Checkpoint Charlie and flash their passports. Schawbowski's answer to THAT question, stunned the world. It was an amazing piece of history. That "question" brought down the entire Soviet empire. Pause here....

Tom Brokaw should have gone into retirement years ago. He's a constant on NBC News. He sounds terrible on television today, slurring words, thoughts and ideas. On top of that, he's a liberal. He got caught-up in the swamp of liberalism years and years ago. He's never been intellectually curious, and like Obama, a good teleprompter reader. Age does not necessarily bring wisdom...

....The Gods of liberalism....

The rules are very clear on this. You can read it yourself in the book, "Sacred Rules for Liberals," chapter 15, paragraph 23, "when a woman accuses a male of sexual harassment, she is always right!" Always. No if's and's or but's here. Always. But, ...but, what if the accused is a high priest liberal? One of the most prominent oracle's at Delphi? What the hell do you do? Tom Brokaw fer Chrissakes. In most cases they are simply abandoned. They are treated as if they were never liberal in the first place. They are banished to, ....indifference. Names like Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, Ben Affleck, Oliver Stone, Mark Halperin, Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, George Takei, Garrison Keiller, Russel Simmons, Tavis Smiley, Jann Wenner, ...etc, etc, p-grabbers each and every one, (with exceptions of course).... :) Banished. Never heard of em! They are now no longer allowed to receive the sacrament of liberalism, air time on CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, or ABC. Poof, ....! Gone. Never heard of em. It's kinda like what Hitler did to Ernst Rohm, or Rudolph Hess. Their names never again mentioned in the Voelkische Beobachter or Der Sturmer. Poof, ...gone!

But, this is Tom Brokaw. Liberals in a conundrum. So, today, all of the liberal women working at NBC, including MSNBC, signed a petition supporting one Tom Brokaw. Touching. Heartfelt.

...NBC women back Brokaw: Rachel Maddow, Maria Shriver and Mika Brzezinski join SIXTY other female staffers by signing letter backing legendary anchor against sexual harassment claims
...More than 60 current and former female NBC News staffers signed the letter

Problem: There are now TWO women who are accusing Tom Brokaw of sexual harassment. Two. What are the liberals to do? Are there some Gods who are "more equal than others?" Will the "Rules of Liberals" have to be re-written for exceptions like Tom Brokaw?

Brokaw himself is bitter. He came out swinging against his accuser.

Tom wrote:

Quote:

'I was ambushed and then perp walked across the pages of The Washington Post and Variety as an avatar of male misogyny, taken to the guillotine and stripped of any honor and achievement I had earned in more than a half century of journalism and citizenship.'

Instead I am facing a long list of grievances from a former colleague who left NBC News angry that she had failed in her pursuit of stardom.'

In other words, I am (was) a success, you were not, therefore you are jealous of MY success, and therefore, ...must by lying. Liberals are now quickly adding this new codicil to the paperback version of "Rules of Liberals." ....
