There are high expectations, low expectations, and reality.

Reality says that no matter how high you set your expectations, some people aren't going to meet them. Usually, because they can't for some reason.
Reality says illegals with no education and can barely speak English can make it in the US. Tell me again why ANY able body American with access to free public education and guaranteed college/trade school loans is reliant on the government in a booming economy?
I'm going to guess there are an almost infinite number of reasons. But one of the big ones is that the schools available to those of lower income tend to be the worst. The education they provide is not particularly good. Many times even if the education is adequate, there are so many other issues in the home that the children still don't get a good education. And even if they manage to get a decent education and go to college, there are entire groups of people who have a hard time finding work in the field they're trained for because of institutional bias.

Not that this is going to matter to you, one iota.
