I disagree. You suggest a "Fox News" style investigation to get what the reporter wanted to hear and that does not appear to be the case.

We have watched this clown in the White House for over a year now. Do you really find it that hard to believe that he would be referred to as an "idiot" by those that watch this ignorant disaster stumble through on a daily basis literally just feet away?

I don't find it any stretch that a Marine would look at an idiot in action and name same.

I also find this resitance by the Right to standard journalistic practices regarding sources nothing more then an extention of their "fake news" camapaign that is irresponsibly and purposely shredding a key element of a free society.

Do I think that someone (even someone on the Whitehouse staff) would hold the opinion that Trump does idiotic things? Sure, I could see that happening

Do I think that someone like Kelly would call Trump an idiot in front of subordinates? Not a chance in hell.

Do I think that Kelly would call Trump an idiot in front of subordinates that he planned on firing? Are you freaking kidding me?? That is the really idiotic thing in this report. Kelly was literally brought in to fire a ton of people and hunt down some of the leaks in the Whitehouse. Now NBC news decides to trust the information received from the people he fired? WTF. Any other time they would say that these are possibly disgruntled employees but because it is Trump and they want to believe it, they don't even suggest that their sources might have an agenda.
I would say that those still employed are protecting their jobs if they choose to remain silent.

That aside I see no identification of sources, so please share with me that these were released fomer employess, although it would not change the narrative but please - show me where they are disgruntled former employess.

As to an agenda, perhaps these sources do have one, to inform Americans of what is going on with this remarkably dysfunctional President.

Quoting limited to 5 levels deepis an idiot. It is not a stretch of the imagination that frustrated individuals stuck dealing with this guy would blurt it out from time to time.

The funny part here is that due to your issues with the President you think I am defending him here. I am not. I take issue with this story because it sounds greatly like NBC went and found several people that Kelly fired and then asked if they could say anything damaging about him. The problem I have with it is that this story does not really jive with Kelly's history as I know it.

Is it remotely possible that this man who has spent his entire life in the military is unable to control his mouth around subordinates while talking about his superior? Yeah, I suppose that there is a remote possibility of that. The thing is, the behaviour that they are accusing General Kelly of is behaviour that would get you kicked out of the military. Men who reach the rank of General have more discipline than that.

So you will have to excuse me if I don't accept the stories of unnamed sources about a man who has honorably served this nation for his entire life.

Your article said that they were former.

I am sure that they also reached out to current people asking for a confirm or deny and got a no comment. That is how you get to say that you talked to current and former staff. You get the story from teh former people. Then ask for confirmation from current. When they neither confirm nor deny you run the story as if it was confirmed.

The man in question here is a General. You do not get that rank while badmouthing your superiors to your subordinates. It simply does not happen.

The only scenario that I can see Kelly calling Trump any derogatory name to a subordinate is if he was trying to find a leak and was using that as a canary trap.

This is what I find in my article:

"He doesn't even understand what DACA is. He's an idiot," Kelly said in one meeting, according to two officials who were present. "We've got to save him from himself."

----

"The strong implication being 'if I weren't here we would've entered WWIII or the president would have been impeached,'" one former senior White House official said.

----

Some current and former White House officials said they expect Kelly to leave by July, his one-year mark

Doesn't seem like it was disgruntled or fired staffers according to that. :dunno:

IOW Fake news....
To be fair, it's just unconfirmed nor corroborated...but I'm curious, as to why some on here demand to know the identities of anonymous donors of information from the Trump White House, anonymous sources have been used in Media for decades, the famous "Deepthroat" in the Nixon era....or I wonder if some here would have called it fake unless that brave man came out in public with his identity.

Quote:

WASHINGTON — White House chief of staff John Kelly has eroded morale in the West Wing in recent months with comments to aides that include insulting the president's intelligence and casting himself as the savior of the country, according to eight current and former White House officials.

Now, obviously since none of this is on the record we can't expect NBC to tell us the breakdown of current to former but considering that the Marine General who is being accused has flatly denied these salacious accusations I am going to guess that they have 7 former folks and one current person with the current person saying that they will not confirm nor deny.

They way that this is presented it is no different than the pizza gate story at this point. NBC needs to either go on the record here or admit that this is a national enquirer story.

I feel your frustration. You are in love with an idiot that has conned you up one side and down another. A man who if he was a liberal you would be off the wall about, right down to whatever infantile name calling you would tag him with. Probably be telling us he turns into a demon at his rallies. :rotflmao:

Now you are assuming. Indeed you are assuming that a man with decades of experience in not insulting superiors in front of subordinates somehow magically has lost that ability.

Even if Kelly felt like Trump was an idiot he would not say so to an underling.

I wonder (if my thought is correct and he did not say these things) if there are any grounds to sue NBC in order to compel them to reveal their sources.

It's no assumption to accept that a man of honor and discipline would have a strong opinion about a man that lacks both.

And while once a Marine always a Marine he is also now a civillian not in the Miliitary chain of command or the discipline that comes with the uniform.

Quoting limited to 5 levels deepis

Just unconfirmed or uncorroborated....

Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence.

The bottom line here is that we have a bunch of "off the record" accusations.

We have an ON THE RECORD denial of these accusations.
People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would do them harm.

Yes...that doesn't necessarily imply false or lie...merely uncorroborated but...nice of you to only pick up this thread rather then the other one where I pretty much categorically came down in Kelly's defense...

This article was updated with Kelly's denial.

Quote:

Kelly called the allegations "total BS."

"I spend more time with the president than anyone else and we have an incredibly candid and strong relationship," said Kelly in a statement. "He always knows where I stand and he and I both know this story is total BS. I am committed to the president, his agenda, and our country. This is another pathetic attempt to smear people close to President Trump and distract from the administration’s many successes."

So, at best, unless NBC can bet the folks on their side (and make no mistake, they have a side on this story) to come forward and make accusations on the record, this story is nothing more than Unconfirmed hearsay at best. A political hit job by a media outlet at worst.
