Trump Calls for Russia to Be Readmitted to G-7

WASHINGTON — President Trump called on the world’s leading economies on Friday to reinstate Russia to the Group of 7 nations four years after it was cast out for annexing Crimea, once again putting him at odds with America’s leading allies in Europe and Asia.

The president made the suggestion to reporters as he headed to Canada for the annual meeting of the G-7, a gathering that already was promising to be crackling with tension over trade, Iran and Mr. Trump’s sharp-edged approach to foreign leaders.

Good. Merkel’s Germany ought to be expelled.
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

I suspect that ^^^ isn't about to happen. Russia is no longer a world economic leader. It's economy is smaller than that of Italy. The unanimity of opposition to Trump by all our former allies makes the USA a risky member. Nobody loves us any more -- except for Uncle Vladimir.

The economy is not a God. These “former allies”have been nothing but dead weight and it’s time to cut them loose.

I think it more likely that the G7 expels the U.S. than it decides to reinstate Russia.

The G-7 offers an opportunity for the "America first" guys to proclaim their view of world politics. It is so silly that nobody, left, right, or center, agrees with it. But they don't know that and they don't care. For them, our Western European allies and partners are nothing more than dissenters at a Trump campaign rally.

The business community is alarmed. The financial sector is scared. Our Department of State has given up on the Trump attempts at policy months ago. The Republican Congress has separated itself from the President in despair. The world is waiting to see if America can repair the damage after November. And all across this great land, retired government workers, unemployed factory workers, struggling rural merchants and all the rest of Trump's fans are delighted because they think they are winning. What are they winning? They have no idea.

The USA has a huge internal economy, vast natural resources, a First World infrastructure and a population the size of the EU. Can we run a self-sufficient, self-contained economy and maintain our living standards and national security? If you know of a link to an answer to the question, I would very much like to have it.

We don't need to because Trump is essentially the boss and this little G 6+1 stunt they are trying to pull is like dealing with the unions...

Pretty soon some scabs will cross the picket line (Japan and then Italy)...they will see some non G7 countries get favorable deals (Australia and at least one South American country) and then rest will eventually cross too but now with unilateral fair deals with the USA per country...

Win win win...

Italy's new PM backs Trump on re-admitting Russia into the G7

New Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte threw his weight on Friday behind U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for Russia to be included once more into Group of Seven meetings.

“I agree with President (Trump). Russia should be re-admitted into the G8. It is in the interests of everyone,” Conte said in a tweet from Canada where he is due to make his international debut as Italian leader at a summit of world power leaders.

excellent suggestion

we also need to make sure we have the same treatment for our exports that we offer for imports

I like the way this president approaches American interests
Republicans sign checks on the front, democrats sign them on the back…True story!

Strange!!! I could have sworn that the Trumpers had been screaming that this particular Italian PM had usurped the will of the Italian people? Now he seems to be a hero for them?

Well, there you go, it only goes to prove that Trump supporters had their integrity surgically removed before voting Trump.

Cheers

The PM were referring to was the one that the disgraced President attempted to impose when illegally vetoed the choice for Financr Minister due to his criticism of the EU
