Pentagon and Seoul Surprised by Trump Pledge to Halt Military Exercises

It is natural that China, having reached the status of economic superpower should wish to extend the boundaries of its sphere of control over the western Pacific. The battle for Number One in the global economy is on between the USA and China. Obama began the strategic shift of US power to Australia and western Pacific.

Trump's move toward neutralizing North Korea is another move in US strategy in the western Pacific. We can expect the rise of India to become another cornerstone in the strategy to contain China.

Quoting limited to 5 levels deep
Kim Jong is China's puppet. China for sure don't want a nuke to go off in their backyard.
And that situation is different after the summit than before the summit in what way?

Bottom line is this, NK still has nukes. It still just as capable of firing those nukes as it was before the summit. The threat has not been eliminated. Period.

Maybe a year or two down the road, that will be different. But today, it's not. And claiming otherwise is not only untrue, it's dangerous.
The threat from Iran, China, and Russia is still available. The US let these countries know that if one nuke is fired on the US, expect swift retaliation. We need to let N. Korea know also. This summit opens the door for that dialogue.
The threat from NK has in no way been eliminated. It...is...not...gone.

It is stupid to try to pretend otherwise. Sure, talking is better and perhaps over time negotiations will reach a point where the NK nuclear threat has been eliminated. But that day is not today.

Tomorrow Trump could tweet something about Kim Jong Un or Kim could say something about Trump, and we would be right where we were a week ago. Just because things are currently calmer, doesn't mean the threat is gone.
Who said anything about the threat being eliminated?
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

Go look at the thread again. Peewee said the threat had been eliminated. I said it wasn't. You then chimed in and I reiterated it wasn't eliminated. And here we are.

Oh, and your boy Trump is the one who originally tweeted, and I quote:

"Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!"

What was it that Trump used to get out of service in Vietnam?...Shin splints right....devastating no doubt, his time spent at a military academy must have demoralized him to know he would have been kept at home while his fellow students served their country, luckily his father's money I'm sure allowed him to get over his remorse quickly.
Are you saying serving in the military is prerequisite before a person can talk about honoring and respecting the flag?
Better then having a coward denigrate others who did serve as "disrespecting" the flag.

https://taskandpurpose.com/troops-kaepernick-national-anthem-trump/

“I can tell you, speaking for three generations of my family, it is PRECISELY for men like Kaepernick, and his right to peacefully protest injustice, that we were willing to serve,” said Michael Sands, a Green Beret who is the son of a World War II veteran and father of an Army officer who served in Afghanistan. “Want to respect the American flag? Then respect the ideals for which it stands. Bullying language and calling peaceful protesters ‘sons of bitches’ who should be fired aren’t among them.”
If my uncles knew they were fighting for people like Kaepernick and most of you on the left they would have deserted. Liberals aren't worth fighting for let alone dying for.
The your uncles would have been cowards like you. There is a thing called the Constitution which gives one the right to protest. Sorry asses like you seem to think it is just a piece of paper to be used to s**t in. Kind of like the Coward in Chief you voted for.

And being unable to fill more spots in his government then any other President in recent memory? Is it calculated that his Administration leaks information like a damaged sponge?

You know, that's not a completely unfair point. I probably would bag on pretty much any Republican in the office. I don't particularly like Republicans these days, although that wasn't always true, and even if someone somewhat reasonable and qualified were to have been elected, like Mitt Romney, John McCain, or even Marco Rubio, for example, I would probably have a lot of unkind things to say about their policies.

The thing is, Trump makes it almost too easy. He has no real policies, at least nothing that is particularly coherent. And he tweets like a pissed off drunken sailor about things which, in many cases, aren't even based on reality. His administration leaks like a sieve. He has changed White House staff more often than many people change their socks. He makes decisions based on whims, not even bothering to be informed about the consequences. And his trade policies may very well lead to tanking the U.S. economy.

Trump's policies aren't just bad, although they are very bad, but he exhibits absolutely no indication of being a man who is serious about being President and is willing to do the work necessary.

You misunderstood me....it's not him not being allowed his picks...he can't keep the seats warm with butts...they either quit, get fired, or get compromised and resign. This is what happens when you stock your positions with corporate types where it's dog eat dog, and there is no sense of loyalty. They're in it for them at the time they come into a position of authority.

Didn't the left criticize these drills at the Korean peninsula as provocative? Trump is granting of their wish. The left's TDS is strong.

Look at this silly leftist. I am willing to bet this leftist hace no problem with NFL players and radicals disrespecting and burning the American flag.

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/opinion/readers/2018/06/11/letters-hubbell-distributes-his-wealth-community/685431002/
It is the right wingers like you that vote for cowards who denigrate the flag, and those that serve it. To equate kneeling during the anthem in protest, an action proposed by an actual hero not some loud mouthed coward, with the burning of the flag only shows the depraved state of mind you function in.
How many US flags you have currently soaking in kerosene?
