Serbia has hit out at a "provocative" double eagle celebration by two ethnic Albanian goalscorers in the World Cup.

Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri scored for Switzerland who beat Serbia 2-1.

Their gesture is a nationalist symbol representing the double headed eagle on Albania's national flag. Critics say it could inflame tensions among Serbian nationalists and ethnic Albanians.

Albanian leaders applauded the pair. A pro-government Serbian newspaper said they had "humiliated" Switzerland.

The celebration has brought political tensions in the Balkans on to the World Cup stage.

Politics at the World Cup, who'd a thought?

Sounds like World War I all over again. Send the Archduke to Sarajevo...!

The Albanians hate the Serbs, and the Serbs hate the Bosnians, and the Croats hate the Serbs and the Macedonians hate the Greeks, ...er, have I left anyone out?

So, during a gut-wrenching loss for the Serbian World Cup team, a couple of Albanians (playing for the Swiss) decided to "taunt the Serbians" in the crowd by cackling like Eagles, double eagles that is, the symbol of Albania. Commentators in both Belgrade and Zurich were aghast. "I thought we did away with "nationalism," and all its evils?" Right? That's what the libs/socialists/commies are telling us. Globalism forever! If you're German, you're German, if you're Swiss, you're Swiss, even if you come from a different culture, religion and ethnic background...er, right?

Wrong.

And, what was SHE doing there?
