Armored vehicles aren't going to do anything except cost a lot of money. The real problem is that we now want a kind of border the like of which we've never had. Patching here and there isn't going to fix the problem but the size and variety of border terrain means a huge and fabulously expensive undertaking that fill still fail. Sealing off el Paso won't stop problems but it will cost the economy of Texas mucha plata.

The big immigrant rush has been over for a decade. The key was improving the Mexican economy. The drugs kill more Americans in a day than MS-13 can in a year. The solution lies in the source, Central American anarchy. The Mexican border is our equivalent of the Gaza-Israel border. That one isn't working out either. Bricks and mortar don't solve social problems.

M'Lord..I'm sorry if the dirty wretches offend ye, I shall see them gone hither...but no, it doesn't make me happy they're continually using our border to conduct their criminal enterprises, but it does cement in my head that you Trump-believers were suckers as it regards just the wall, I'm pretty happy the economy has taken upward swings, and hence can not be used against a GOP later on.

You see PA, we "Establishment " Republicans are looking past Trump, whatever my personal opinions of Trump there PA, I want a 2nd term GOP President, I'd prefer Pence, but that is moot. I'm looking down more then just another 4 or 8 years...the Party looks plays the long game.

You don't seriously believe these expensive fences are going to do anything about the traffic from San Diego to Brownsville, do you? Not to mention the salt water borders, air traffic and tunnels. They will help funnel foot traffic into the already overburdened bureaucracies at the ports of entry but that isn't going stop the big problems. Trump folks hate Mexicans on a racial basis. The real issues on the border just aren't important to them.

Establishment Republicans are only slightly less repugnant than democrats. Trump, despite his offensive language and bizarre behavior, won for a reason and some of you can't come to grips with that. Unlike you I don't fixate on his mannerisms, I focus on his legislation and actions. Cutting taxes, cutting regulations, working to stop the flow of illegals and renegotiating bad trade deals are huge benefits and improvements over anything the "established" republicans have tried to accomplish.

Yes, I stand corrected, 14 miles (which isn't complete by the way, and isn't new fence, it merely replaces a bad structure that is already there) out of 2000...yeah, that'll show em...

The reason why Trump prevailed in the Electoral College by a mere 77,000 in three states after losing the popular vote by almost 3,000,000 votes is, as you know, hotly debated and there is no reason to think it was his program, a contradictory rambling including single-payer healthcare.

The success of his legislative efforts is almost as unimpressive. The tax cut is seriously raising the deficit, something you have spoken about consistently for years. His work to stop illegal immigration has been nothing to write home about, at least so far. The trade deals are even more questionable. You have a long record of arguing for free trade. Trump is stumbling in the opposite direction. Why are you following him now?

Your enthusiasm for Trump is puzzling to me as you have been consistently and articulately advocating policies quite different from his foundering efforts. Fear and hatred of Hillary, although I don't share it, is an understandable motive but at best, a lukewarm endorsement for the lesser of two evils.

I honestly can't follow your political twist.

My politics are simple and easy to understand. I want a growing prosperous economy in which everyone has opportunity. I'm not interested in government guarantees or rigged outcomes. Trump has reestablished optimism, that is first and foremost. Optimism leads to investment, growth and individual opportunities. Thanks to Trump we are finally becoming more competitive, scared money stays liquid.

The national debt and the deficit will grow until someone has the courage to revamp social security, Medicare and Medicaid or when they begin to collapse. We can't grow or tax ourselves out of those major unfunded programs. I'm good with a Greek style restructuring, it will be painful but that's what happens after decades of making unfunded promises.

I have no particular love for Trump, he's an arrogant a-hole but his upside outweighs his downside. The choice between Trump and Hillary was the probably the worst in American history. I chose the least offensive as did millions of other Americans.

Mexico is a narco state and they are not our friends, they flood our country with drugs, gangs and illiterate peasants that cost us 100+ billion dollars a year. Communist Cuba is a better neighbor, at least they have to take a raft to get to the US.

Canada, Germany, France.. are not flooding our country with drugs, gangs and illegals. Trade disputes are legitimate disagreements that will be handled accordingly. Again, Mexico is a narco state, it is a dangerous sheithole that we unfortunately have as a neighbor. They are not our friends. A good neighbor doesn't dump garbage on your front yard.
