Venezuela will enjoy the company. One more reason to militarize the US border. The good news is Mexicans will probably lose weight, starvation is a time proven diet.

Good news. This will be manna for Trump’s reelection.

Maybe the "Latinos"[sic] are starving NOW, under the right-wing, conservative government of Peña Nieto?

Runner-up in the 2012 and 2006 elections, Lopez Obrador has capitalized on growing disenchantment with the PRI over record levels of violence, a series of political corruption scandals and sluggish economic growth.
Maybe that is why they are voting for AMLO?

Wind in sails, Mexican leftist heads to giant stadium for campaign finale
Quote:

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican presidential favorite Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is due to wrap up his election campaign on Wednesday in the country’s largest soccer stadium, fortified by a new opinion poll showing his already-commanding lead growing even further.

After failing in two previous runs at the presidency, Lopez Obrador’s popularity has grown in tandem with Mexicans anger at traditional parties’ failure to subdue record levels of violence and end corruption.

A new poll published on Wednesday by Mexican firm Parametria showed him with 45 percent of the vote, compared to 19 percent for rival Ricardo Anaya.

If victorious in Sunday’s election, Lopez Obrador, 64, will become Mexico’s first left-leaning president in generations, promising to end politicians’ perks and raise living standards for the poor.

Leftist vows to cleanse Mexico of corruption, with victory beckoning

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The hot favorite to win Mexico’s presidency, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, vowed to root out corruption and pacify the gang-ravaged country with a sweeping anti-establishment speech to a stadium full of supporters at his campaign finale.

A trenchant critic of the ruling elite, Lopez Obrador would become Mexico’s first left-leaning leader for decades if elected on Sunday, breaking the stranglehold of the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and its conservative rivals.

Ahead of Mexico vote, fears and warnings over possible fraud
Quote:

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The specter of possible fraud rears its head in Mexico each electoral campaign, both in the popular imagination and among candidates on the ballot. This year has been no exception.

With leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador holding a wide lead in most polls, his allies are warning even before Sunday’s presidential vote that there better not be any funny business.

“They shouldn’t dare commit a fraud, because if they do they will meet the devil,” Yeidckol Polevnsky, president of the candidate’s Morena party, said this week. “We will not accept it.”

Obrador campaigned on the same promises made by every successful and failed candidate since they first held free elections...to end "corruption in government". <this is me laughing my ass off> Whether it be judges, police officers, politicians taking a mordida from drug cartels, La Migra taking bribes at the border, or police extorting travelers along the hiways...graft and corruption are so deeply woven at every level into Mexico's fabric of society, government and economy that no amount of lip service from this or any other candidate is going to end it.
Ringoism: Never underestimate the advantages of being underestimated.
