A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research released Thursday finds that 55 percent of Americans approve of Mr. Trump's diplomacy with North Korea, up from 42 percent in March and 34 percent last October. It's the highest rating for the Republican president on any individual issue on an AP-NORC poll since his inauguration.

A for effort peewee....but the poll also stipulates that there is no way NK will ever actually follow thru on any effort. So all this summit accomplished is what the NK's always do...recognition that they want to be a player, that and the fact they've rattled their sabers and talked about nuclear weapons with every Administration for at least 40 years, it's a shakedown, previous Presidents didn't bother giving him a platform and just paid the NK's off with food, or obsolete tech.

My theory has always been that most, if they even bother to investigate at all, gather their daily news by reading only headlines. Not taking the time to dig deeper. The headline says that most of us approve of how Trump handled North Korea. The rest of the deeper details remain to be seen. I am going to take the optimistic path on this one. Trump has already been grossly underestimated by many from before he won his presidency.

Then you'd be a better man for it, I'm under no delusions that the NK's would even bother finish writing the signature before they'd complain about something else, and walk away from the table, or do this whole shebang again when the next President is in office...I've seen this played out time and time again, I won't say Trump got bamboozled, but I do think he believes "THIS" time it's going to work...just because he's in charge. Fine, he gets to be optimistic because it's a moment in history if he's right, a footnote in a biography bout US-North Korean relations if he's not.

By all means, do so....I am of equal doubt and hope on this issue....would I like to see President Trump's intentions bear real fruit with the NK's...of course, what idiot wouldn't want fewer nuclear weapons on the planet, but I'm also aware of past history involving NK's leadership spouting off everytime they need food bout getting nuclear weapons.

Last I checked the toughest sanctions ever imposed on NK are still on....

They (Trump/NK) are setting up for an near election event....also never forget this whole NK thing is not about NK...it's about China...

NK is in a holding pattern until Trump and Xi come to a full agreement...

At least you recognize the "real" parties in this scenario...the little boy in NK doesn't do squat without Xi knowing, condoning, or initiating it. This is about China's play transitioning from Regional to World player, and in the NK stalemate, they have an opening. NK will do whatever China demands.

Atypically we bribe them with food or obsolete tech we no longer feel necessary to keep out of the NK's hands. Worked for every administration for over 40 years.

He got a suspension of US-SK joint military exercises which can be restarted at any time... he didn't give him crates of hundred dollar bills.
