Lucky for 70 we can't go back to the old site where he repeatedly bitched about oversea military bases

All it took was for Trump to get elected for all the closet generals to go full neocon.

What excuse will mods have for overlooking violent unhinged posts after Atta pulls a columbine?

Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

Yes, I did support U.S. base closures in Europe some years ago, when Russian was still our ally. But that's no longer the case since Trump got elected because now our European allies are the enemy and our former enemies are our allies.

Keep our remaining bases in Europe open would be a wise choice.

Look for additional U.S. base closures in Europe after the new year, which really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. My former base closed in 97, with the main reason being budgetary constraints. Thanks largely to Trump's billionaire tax cuts this time, which means we can no longer afford to protect our allies and deter communist aggression in Europe.
When our allies can easily afford to protect themselves, they don't need any help from the USA...I haven't that the Red Chinese and Cuba plan to invade the EU....................

For the simple-minded, and yes I mean that, Trump voter who cannot comprehend international trade, it is no wonder they cannot understand this.

US bases in Europe (Germany) are not there to support those countries. They are there to support American forces. For decades they have provided a forward base for US troops, a resupply point and an emergency evacuation center. The military hospital in Germany is top notch and has been used consistently to make sure we can get injured troops to quick, efficient medical care form points in the ME, Africa and if needed Europe. They provide supply points for operations in the Mediterranean and points East.

We removed the bulk of our troops long ago, the ones that were the tripwire against the Soviets. Today's tripwire troops are in the Baltic States and Poland. It is no wonder that Poland wants a base, they want our security, the type of security that the Trumpies complain about.

Today's European bases are all about our convenience and the security of our troops.

You missed the whole point of it, we are not there for the German or the French, we are there for US servicemen.

And no, New Jersey does not have what we need. It is about 4000 miles away from what we need.

But I thought Trump was Putin's puppet?!?! I thought Putin is the primary reason Trump was elected? Trump and Putin were colluding and all that? If all that's true, wouldn't the US and Russia be even closer than before? Hmmm???

Donald Trump is Barack Obama's President!

The Pentagon is analyzing the cost and impact of a large-scale withdrawal or transfer of American troops stationed in Germany, amid growing tensions between President Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to people familiar with the work.
