Interior ministers from Berlin, Vienna, Italy and Greece will meet in Innsbruck in the coming weeks to reduce migratory pressure from across the Mediterranean, said Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.

He said: “Next week there will be a meeting between the ministers of interior of Germany, Austria and Italy to decide measures to close the route of migration in the Mediterranean.”

Mr Kurz made the declaration after Germany’s interior minister Horst Seehofer after Berlin said it would establish transition camps on the country’s southern border to faster progress asylum seekers and deport those already rejected.

Both Italy and Austria responded to a joint statement from Mr Seehofer and Angela Merkel by confirming they would also introduce border controls.

Shengen?

A definition:

Quote:

The Schengen Area ( /ˈʃɛŋən/, /ˈʃɛŋɡən/) is an area comprising 26 European states that have officially abolished passport and all other types of border control at their mutual borders. The area mostly functions as a single jurisdiction for international travel purposes, with a common visa policy. The area is named after the Schengen Agreement. States in the Schengen Area have strengthened border controls with non-Schengen countries.

Twenty-two of the twenty-eight European Union (EU) member states participate in the Schengen Area. Of the six EU members that are not part of the Schengen Area, four – Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, and Romania – are legally obliged to join the area, while the other two – the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom – maintain opt-outs. The four European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, are not members of the EU, but have signed agreements in association with the Schengen Agreement. Three European microstates – Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican City – are de facto part of the Schengen Area.

Point:

Borders will be reinstated throughout Europe and the EU will be, ....disbanded, .... in Innsbruck, Austria. Next week.

Next week, it all comes to fruition in the lovely city of Innsbruck. Skied there, partied there, flew in, took off, on a piper plane there, drank a lot of beer there, fell in love with a buxom Austrian on a train there ( ), and had several lovely meals at a restaurant near the Goldenes Dachl" there. Sigh. Love Innsbruck. Miss Innsbruck. Now, history is coming to the city of Maria Theresa, mother of Maria-Antoinette.

The discussions and decision taking place in Innsbruck will mark the beginning of the end of the EU. Pay attention.

And, ...and, what is sure to scare the bejeebee's out of the CSU during this week's meetings in Innsbruck (... ) are the new polling numbers coming out.

The AfD is now, officially, the second largest political party in Germany, and climbing.

Just this week, in front of her face, the AfD demands that Merkel step down. ...und jetzt!

“How much longer do you want to keep us waiting with bluffs with pseudo agreements, action announcements full of backdoors and side exits out of which nothing ever comes?” Weidel says

The AfD leader continues and advises Merkel to quit her job as she divided Europe and Germany:

“You achieved nothing more than sitting in the seat of a Chancellor for a bit longer, who is in charge of a long internally broken coalition with all tricks and guile. And for this you divide Germany, for this you divide Europe (..) Put an end to this tragedy and please step down!”
