Why Is It So Hard To Choose A Laptop?
By Rob Enderle on July 6, 2018

I’ve got four very different laptops, all current looking at me this week begging to be used. I have the Asus NovaGo and the Lenovo Miix 630 Always-Connected-PCs, the Microsoft Surface Book, and the Dell Latitude 7390. Oh, and I just spent several weeks carrying the HP EliteBook 1040. The screwy thing is, there’s stuff I like about each one of these products but were someone to ask me which one they should buy I’d struggle—much like they would—on the tradeoffs.

Let me walk you through each category and where each laptop stands out.

My company uses Toshibas. The one I use is a 2011, 7 years old now, and it's needed a hard drive replaced and a battery, once each. These travel around in our vehicles with us as we make sales, so it's not a coddled life by any measure.

Buddy had a Toshiba TV. I swear it lasted just over 30 thirty years until the picture tube started displaying every color in the rainbow and he was forced to trash it in 1996-97. It had a dial tuner, UHF/VHF only and every time he turned it on we wondered in amazement it still worked.

:hooray:
