3 YouTube Vloggers Die in Tragic Accident After Falling Over Waterfall in British Columbia Maria Pasquini,People 15 hours ago Popular Canadian YouTubers Ryker Gamble, Alexey Lyakh and Megan Scraper died on Tuesday in a tragic accident that occurred at Shannon Falls in British Columbia. In a statement released on Wednesday, the Squamish RCMP wrote that, “On July 3rd, 2018, at 11:55 am Squamish RCMP received a call from BC Ambulance regarding three people who were swimming in one of the pools at the top of Shannon Falls.” “The individuals were with a group of friends when they slipped and fell into a pool 30 metres below,” the police continued, adding that all three bodies had since been recovered, and the case was being referred to the British Columbia Coroners Service. They did not release the names of the deceased. Shannon Falls is the third highest waterfall in British Columbia, reaching a height of 1,009 ft. Selfie accidents range from silly to deadly all over the world About a year ago, Aurora Sheffel was standing on a log with friends at the South Jetty Park Beach in Oregon before she suddenly fell, become pinned under the log, and drowned. In June 2016, DaMontez Jones accidentally shot himself in the chest in St. Louis. And just this week, a woman was injured after falling from a Norwegian cruise line in the Bahamas. A 2016 study conducted by Carnegie Melon University found that there have 127 so-called selfie deaths across the world since March 2014; nine of those fatalities happened in the U.S., according to the study. The purpose of the study was to understand the psychology of taking selfies and understanding its effect on social media platforms.
