Surprise, surprise, surprise ...

“What happened was tantamount to blackmail, with the U.S. holding the world hostage and trying to overturn nearly 40 years of consensus on the best way to protect infant and young child health,” she said.

In the end, the Americans’ efforts were mostly unsuccessful. It was the Russians who ultimately stepped in to introduce the measure — and the Americans did not threaten them.

Who'da thunk it?
And there we go. :oyvey:

This nation's level of irresponsible attitudes, demands and directions that they are willing to back up with threats is stunning.

This President's need to do the bidding of Russia is disgusting.

We separate children from their parents as a matter of a hate only policy. Is it any wonder that the United States won't step up to the right thing around children on this level either?

Russia never called me deplorable, nor did they flood this countries with an unending stream of undesirables across the border.

Russia is not going to call their American supporters "deplorable", in particular while we have a President that is doing their bidding.

Besides, conservatives behaving as the worst of Russia, what is for Russia to criticize?

Yes, the horror of having good relations with Russia.

Yes, the horror of having good relations with Russia.
Doing the bidding of an adversary is not good relations with Russia, it's putting the interests of Russia over the United States.

And once again President Trump's America does so at the expense of children.

Russia is far less important of an adversary than Angela Merkel.

There is something wrong with this nation. What was the thinking behind this?

What do we do next, promote a lack of education as good for children?
Not brushing teeth?
White Refined Sugar as a health food?

Do you think there is no need in this world for baby formula? Do you think mothers should be shamed for using baby formula? Do you think governments should tell women what's best for them to feed their babies?

No one said any of that. Just your article that you now want to use to base your argument on?

Where do Right Wingers come up with this manure?

This was the United States being pathetic bullies and coming across with the great ignorance we have come to very recently represent.

This is not about being told what to do by WHO. It is not about Russia, it is about making money.

The US has a bullying loudmouth for a president who is willing to demolish the Fourth Estate in order make money. He is a moral-starved businessman who has bullied his way to where he is.

Trust in the media has eroded in recent years and, according to a Gallup Panel survey, people say more than 40% of what they see in the media is inaccurate.

In other countries corrupt government shut down independent news sources; ones that criticise them. But even US right-wing would smell a rat if Trump physically shut down critical news sources, yet they're just too willingly blind not to recognise the same affect brought about through more subtle measures (Fake News Claims)

But this is not even about Trump, it's about the power of US lobbies on the Whitehouse.

The last thing that the Baby Formula Lobby wants is for 3rd-World mothers to be encouraged to breast feed, because it is there where they make most of their money.

The US never set up the UN to own it; it did it to prevent, as far as possible, future conflict by creating an entity where disputes could be solved without resorting to war.

It is, in fact, a more effective form of the failed "League of Nations" that preceded it, which had been set up by European nations + the US after the end of the Great War.

The US paid the lion's share in 1945 for the UN because everybody was broke after the war - the US was the only country that came out of the war richer than when it went in.

I agree that if the US is unhappy with the UN then it should withdraw both its funding & voice and that the UN HQ should be moved to Geneva.

Cheers
