And now, Boris Johnson just resigned.

If you go on over to the BBC web page, under "World," you will find NOTHING about this story!

https://www.bbc.com/news/world
Ah, clicked on you link and found this

Boris Johnson quits to add to pressure on May over Brexit

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-44770847

So, you were saying?

Oh and by the way, I personally didn't think that Trump was welcome in the UK being a major twat and all that

Secondly 49% of the British were betrayed by the UK Government's decision to go ahead with Brexit against their will, amongst them, me. A decision of such magnitude should have required a two-third majority - it is insane that 51% can screw over 49% on such a decision. This is not, after all, a "which washing powder you prefer" poll.

Cheers

American ‘Deplorables’ find common cause and understanding with the British ‘commoners’; both groups fighting against a political class that sees themselves as better than the group they are supposed to represent. Sickening elitism and globalism on display in both countries. Underpinning it all is the root of all evil, money.

The timing is interesting. U.S. President Trump is scheduled to arrive in the U.K on Thursday. President Trump fully supports the sovereign right of the British people to get out of the European Union; and he supports Brexit. Conversely Prime Minister Theresa May is aligned with the ruling class against the majority will of her constituents. There is a prime opportunity for President Trump to speak in support of Brexit and dispatch the elitist sensibilities of the British ruling class.

No doubt the politicians within the U.K. are concerned about the optics of a U.S. President Trump outlining freedom and the voice of the people while the elite ruling class are forced to listen….. This could get very interesting.

The only reason that Trump would support Brexit is because it weakens the EU and the UK. The US wants to be able to dictate to individual nations and is seriously hampered by a united Europe.

There are sectors of the UK that seriously think that the US needs the UK but the only reason that the US and UK had a "special relationship" was that the US could undermine Europe via the UK Trojan Horse. As soon as Britain pulls out the US will drop the UK like a brick.

But, you've got stuck-on-stupid by the boatload in the UK, with the delusional thinking that the UK has the power of its former imperial days.

The truth is, like it or not, that survival in the future power blocks necessitate alignment: Europe, China, India, Ibero-America, the US: these are the five economic power blocks of tomorrow, all of whom have abundant natural resources except Europe; all of whom have populations of over 500 million, except the USA. Britain, by itself, has simply no chance.

Russia with its 144 million will eventually align with Europe, as Japan (127m) will with China. Africa, despite all its natural resources, will never get a chance to get its act together and will fall prey to European and Chinese commercial exploitation - sad but inevitable.

Cheers

Right.

The EU is your future. Uh-huh. Nostradamus, ...you ain't.

First, let's start with this:

...."The only reason that Trump would support Brexit is because it weakens the EU and the UK. The US wants to be able to dictate to individual nations and is seriously hampered by a united Europe." ....

A united Europe? The EU, at this very moment, is teetering. The bureaucrats in Brussels are, at this very moment, running from EU boutique to EU "discount store" trying desperately to fill their "goody bags" before the gravy train comes to a halt. How much longer? 6 months? ...a year, two years? This ain't gonna last. Like Rome in 400 AD, the rot has set in. Change is coming. The Zeitgeist is moving and the non-initiated (such as your good self) haven't bothered to look-up into the night sky. There will be no more EU, no more Junker, no more Strasbourg, no more insanity. It's all coming to an, ...end. Pay attention! It reminds one of the fall of Rome and the rape of the Sabine women....

The impulsive, razor-thin vote for Brexit seemed prompted by the small but significant number of Eastern European immigrants taking working-class jobs in the UK. The larger economic implications appear to have been brushed aside amidst a nativist fear about the character of Little Britain. Is that the way Hughmac and other UK posters see the move?

Don't be silly.

Of course the resignation of the current Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs would eventually find its way to the 'World' page of the BBC. How could it not be? When THAT story broke, however, it was headline news all over the world, except the BBC, which buried it under its UK tab. For a couple of hours it was simply buried, raising my eyebrow yet again as to how the BBC slants its news. Today, and you can check, THAT story has already disappeared from the 'World' page headlines. Poof, ..gone. There may be a 'vote of no confidence' in Parliament, but 12 kids trapped in a tunnel in Thailand is much more riveting. No big deal, move along.

Point: The news media, and in this case the BBC, slants its coverage by choosing which important stories to highlight, and which to shuffle to page 5 (so to speak), bottom of the page, right under a women's lingerie sale at Harrods. That's what was done here.

Ah, ....no.

The European Union was created in 1993 as a result of the Maastricht Accords.

Previous to that the integration of Europe was started by Konrad Adenauer and his steel pact with France in 1952. In 1951 France, Italy, the Benelux countries (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg), together with West Germany, signed the Treaty of Paris (1951) creating the European Coal and Steel Community the following year. Low tariffs on steel and other major industrial goods was a wonderful idea. Kick-started the European economies. But ALL transpired under nations with CLEAR borders and passport controls. That all ended in 1993, which is/was the focal point for the eventual collapse of Europe.
