NFL player LeSean “Shady” McCoy has been accused of being responsible for a violent attack on his former girlfriend.

On Tuesday, a horrific photograph of the player’s ex, Delicia Cordon, went viral on social media. In the photograph, obtained by PEOPLE, the designer is covered in blood and lying in a hospital bed.

The legal firm representing Cordon said in a statement to PEOPLE that she was attacked at around 3am Tuesday morning as she slept in the Georgia home that she shares with the football star. The pair is currently estranged.

“Ms. Cordon was physically assaulted in the home by a male assailant who entered the home with no signs of forced entry,” the statement says.

Not to go to his defense but that article has a lot of shadiness to it starting with the title which leads one to believe that McCoy was the one who beat her....Yahoo is prolly the worst mainstream news source on the planet....

:shakeshead:
Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence.

“Ms. Cordon was physically assaulted in the home by a male assailant who entered the home with no signs of forced entry,” the statement says. The man allegedly demanded a number of specific pieces of jewelry..."

Cordon’s lawyers said there was a single armed man who targeted jewelry given to their client by her estranged partner. The firm also alleges the NFL star recently had the home’s security system changed.

“The assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been previously gifted to Ms. Cordon by Mr. McCoy, which Mr. McCoy had requested back on many occasions,” the statement says. “In fact, after Ms. Cordon refused to return her jewelry gifts to Mr. McCoy, he would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.”

The Milton Police Department confirmed they are investigating a break-in at the home. “The preliminary investigation indicates that this residence was specifically targeted by the suspect or suspects, and not a random incident,” the statement from the Milton Police department said in a statement obtained by Yahoo Sports.

To be clear, the accusation is that he arranged for someone to break into a house that he owns (and that she lives at) in order to beat this woman and destroy jewelry that he had given her when they were in a relationship.

Basically, if there is any truth to this he will never play another down of football in the NFL.

No question that if he is proven to be guilty that he is scum. As far as the NFL is concerned though his guilt will not have to be proven in a court of law. If they feel that he did this or was part of if they will suspend him indefinitely even if he is not charged by the police.

Innocent until proven guilty is the law of the land.

With that said and based upon only hearing one side of this, it does look a great deal like "Shady" put someone up to this act somehow. Proving that in court might be difficult though unless he was a total idiot.
