Someone thought this was a good idea: Mississippi Senate passes bill allowing churches to form militias; Perhaps the scariest part is how relatively easy it is to join a "church security team" and bring your gun to mass

Mention half azzed militia and some go off the rails.
Must be hitting too close to home is my guess.

I gotta run Gents....My goal for the day is to finish that radius guide. I could have bought one on line for between $75.00 and $150.00 but where's the fun in that when I can build one myself and spend nearly twice that.

Have a good day.
Now that there's funny ... and soooooo true

Critical update on that radius guide fellers. Five prototypes, Four trips to town, two broken drill bits, a sprained wrist, a small pile of scrap metal and a big pile of empty beer cans....Still not done but I'm nothing if not persistent. I know the whole board is a twitter with anticipation, so I'll keep you apprised of my progress.

Why do you hate the South so much but continue to live there?
I think Portland, OR is a better fit. There are dime a dozen leftists up there.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

Man, that some manly stuff there.

Trips to town. Trips to town??? How freakin' rural.

Round these parts the whole place is the town. And our manly stuff is confined to things like using a TMZ Tour Van to try and stop a fleeing suspect on the freeway.

Somehow yours sounds more healthy perhaps. And you aren't going to be stuck with the Rams.

I saw the video on that incident. Not quite as hectic around here. We have to occasionally dodge and negotiate a string of week-end bicyclists, and more often need to slow down so the farm implements can pull over for us to pass. Aside from that, and my wife stopping in the middle of the road to pick up stray dogs, the 4 way stop a mile up the road is the biggest traffic hazard we deal with.

Oaky, here is what you do. Pass a local ordinance that anyone selling any real estate, home, building, farm - whatever has to inform the buyer that there is no restaurant delivery available in that area.

You'll be so rural you'll be throwing parties that only the local bovine will hear about.

Funny you should mention that. I have to meet the Domino's Pizza guy at the four way stop because they won't deliver any further south.

And the envy (mine) sets in.

Car chases --- Well... car chases on TV in these parts get ratings. Let's see, not counting the ones that passed within a quarter mile or less or my fortress, in order of, well, something; there was one that exited the freeway and shot down my block. There was the one my wife and I saw on the freeway going the other way. And taking the number one slot (envelope please) is the one that ended one night across the street and one house down. Cops broke out the window and pulled the driver through it. Lots of screaming to the folks in the house that it ended in front of and I never knew that many police cars were allocated to any one department.

I don't hate the South, just the people. They're like you. But, I stay because I made the mistake of moving here with 2 kids and a wife, got divorced, and the kids are just getting started as adults. I'll go back to the West when they settle where they're going to live life.

Not that any of that is your business, but, whatever.

Better question is: why do you continue to live in California if you hate leftists so much? Wouldn't you and they be happier if you moved to a hotbed of myopia, xenophobia and homophobia?

Here's a source I use a lot. You probably know of it, but if not.

One thing I'd try to do is use a lockdown magnetic base as a pivot point.

I started out with a 95 lb. magnet. The kind used on the end of a wand to pick up nails and screws. Couldn't pry it off the welding table. Went to a 65 lb.....couldn't pry it off the welding table. The handle off a 1/4 turn air valve will probably fix the problem.

Was trying to figure out how to center the magnet on a pivot point. Finally it hit me. I scored the chrome cover on the magnet at 0-90-180-270 degrees. Now all I have to do is chalk a 90 degree axis on the plate and line up the scratches.

I was going use washers for stabilizing/elevating wheels, then I got to looking at some store bought radius guides on-line and realized "holy moly that wheel looks a lot like the cutting wheel on a copper tube cutter". Sure enough...exact same thing.

Thank you for the link. Some pretty cool stuff there.
