Yes, I know you have a big *ick and small brains. What else Russia can do to have an influence on the modern day world but to show its big balls with weapons and harassing everyone and is incapable of admitting any internal problems? That's what North Korea does mainly, so you're in the same league with NK. |

Sorry, I forgot that that was a way too complex question for you to answer in any intelligent way.

Putin's probably surprised his popularity is as high as it is, but that doesn't mean it's going to remain high. The Russian people will endure a great deal in the name of nationalism. But when their children cry themselves to sleep at night because there is no food things will change rather dramatically in Russia - one way or another. |

http://foreignpolicy.com/2015/05/06/the-short-life-and-speedy-death-of-russias-silicon-valley-medvedev-go-russia-skolkovo/ http://rbth.com/skolkovo I hardly doubt that during Putin being the czar, not much technological advances are coming from Russia except the inventions to destroy life (spending on military). As what comes to Finland on advancing innovations for global challenges: http://www.slush.org/the-event/impact/ http://www.slush.org/about/slush/ "Originally founded to change attitudes towards entrepreneurship, Slush is a student-run non-profit movement characterized by a unique energy and enthusiasm. Slush has grown from a 300-person assembly to a world-renowned event. In 2015, Slush brought together 15,000 attendees from 100 countries for the two-day event held in Helsinki. The philosophy behind it has remained the same: to help the next generation of great, world-conquering companies forward." |

Jr, you, just like most people, don't base your opinion on facts, you prefer to srarch for facts which support your opinion. Skolkovo was a born dead project, highly criticized, which was created as a corruption spring for the "prominent democrat, father of Russian privatization of 90s", an American agent Anatoly Chubais. He is a key figure of Yeltsin's "family" which selected Putin in 1999 as a totally controlled figure but later he eased the control, having established his own clan. But still there are strict limits of what he can do, especially in econony. But still Yeltin's family has a big piece of the business of robbing Russia, a big part of state budget is spent on false or real projects controlled by them. And it has nothing to do with technological progress, it goes as it goes regardkess of Skolkovo or corruption, we still have a chain of science towns, and Skolkovo is just a justufication to spent some money on pro-American part of our administration. You know nothing, you understand nothing in Russian affairs. Edited by Siberian, May 13 2016, 04:17 AM.

What? I know of other technological centres in Russia but I don't have any hopes for them either - because of the values rampaging the entire country of Russia. I can see it even in my own daily work life that Russia has become much more isolated in this current decade, compared to early 2000's. We've had high hopes for Russia to become part of our real world we have in this planet, including the centres for allowing the development any kind of advanced ideas and values, technologies included. Ok, you blame Yeltsin for the mistakes but to me, he was the best, respectable man for Russia, trying to give Russia a path to catch up with the western world, because life in the Soviet Union brought such a base of lies that it had to had no other destiny except to destroy itself from within. I can see that you're still very stuck to nationalism - that you think Russia "should discover its own method of developing advanced ideas and values and technologies thereof" and that they would be somehow different from other such innovation centres. There's nothing "pro-American" in such centres. It's a universal phenomenon among us human beings, also existing thousands of years as the human race has developed different ideas allowing different values to make also advances in technology. Obviously, you don't seem to accept the fact that freedom of thoughts is the key to all kinds of development, do you? Your nationalistic hubris is the most restrictive obstacle also for the lack of Russian technological centres to make ordinary the life of ordinary Russians any better. So, if I'm so wrong about any "Russian affairs and facts", why don't you explain how Russia as a nation even could have a plan to become respectable in the modern world? |

As you want some "action in life", here's one video clip for you, where an unknown guy drives a motorbike from the east side of Helsinki through the city centre to the west side, ending up to the road I drive daily (and only a few km's from my home) in a bit over 10 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C25BdGRTCu8 To my knowledge, the police has not found the guy, who did this. It would have been in the news if he was found as this video was published in the daily papers. BTW, I have no plans to visit Russia as it is such a menace to human race again (well, except if my daily work needs a trip there), along with North Korea. Instead, I spent my 2 week winter vacation in February in Jamaica. Planning to do some scuba diving in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuuk_Lagoon later this year, as it has some WW2 era remnants still existing. Mind you, I've already been twice diving in the Red Sea, inside a few ships sunken during the 1800's, WW1 and WW2 times and later. News for you still: Been away from Finland for about 2½ - nearly 3 years of my life for now... So, who understands more about us humans and the history of us human beings in general? I'm not restrained by nationalistic values in my life. |
