White Twitter Explodes after ESPN Host Wears ‘Caucasians’ Shirt to Call Out Cleveland Indians Logo

Sports journalist Bomani Jones had ESPN and social media in an uproar Thursday after guest-hosting the sports network’s “Mike & Mike” show while wearing a T-shirt that brilliantly mocked the continued practice of American sports teams using ethnic groups as mascots, specifically the Cleveland Indians.

Jones wore a shirt in the style of the Cleveland Indians logo, except that the team name read “Caucasians” and replaced the Chief Wahoo mascot with a blond white guy who has a dollar sign sticking out of the back of his head.

Cute idea, actually.

I don't mind the Indians name but their mascot is a disgrace and should have been gone 30 years ago. So should the Washington Redskins name.

Who would be offended by the Cleveland Caucasians....liberals are funny creatures....
Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence.

Ah the irony involved with Caucasians telling Native Americans that they have no reason to be offended by the Cleveland Indians and then being offended when someone wears a Caucasians shirt.

I suppose the point was directed to white people that don't think stupid caricatures of ethnic groups can be offensive?
In your case, it sounds like you are offended...making the point ...
Too bad you are too dense to get the point.

*shrug* Race isn't a thing but the shirt also isn't a big deal. He might have been trying to make a point about how it's stupid but it's actually pretty funny/not bothersome.

I'm not offended. This is neither offensive, nor clever, nor interesting. Someone feels offended so they go after white people, we are all used to this. And frankly I don't care if the Indians change their logo or not. I would lose respect for them caving into PC nonsense, but whatever. The should probably change their logo to an androgynous robot.

Firstly, you never answered my question. Why white people? There are all kinds of people who want the Indian logo to stand, not just whites. Secondly, you live in a fantasy world. Leftists are so obsessed with race and can't let it it go that they conjure strife where strife does not exist. Now just the mere portrayal of a Native American is "cultural appropriation" and must be banned. You live in a fantasy land, where all immigrants are poor struggling children like Fievel Goes to America, and if any Muslims do act up, it must be the fault of white people. Just today, Sesame Street introduced an Afghan girl who teaches about female empowerment. The indoctrination begins young, so it is no wonder your obsession.

That leftists has no interest about the welfare of the Indians, the people that is. He was just out there for his 15 minutes. Most whites will probably get a good laugh and call him a dumbass. But I will bet my life savings that if a white guy wears the same shirt with the words Negroes, leftists will be up in arms and demand congressional investigation.

It's sad that leftists can only remain relevant in this country is to either play the race card or blame global warming.

Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins would disagree.

I actually love the shirt. I think Cleveland should change the name of the team to that and then only hire white players. Either that or staff the team with all black players or all Hispanic players. I actually think a team named the Caucasians that had all black players would be really funny.
