From Atta: "This is end game for humanity If you his is end game for humanity If you believe in science, global warming is a reality. Every year is a consecutive record breaker of high temperatures. New data has come out this week that the melting of the poles is happening faster than previously predicted, but there is an even more current crisis unfolding right now - wealth disparity. The near term dystopia happens before the great climate meltdown. Dystopia is a description of the breakdown of civilization, a second dark ages, modern feudalism. It's when wealth will buy you safety within high walls, gated communities, expensive cities, out of reach of the non-rich majority. Outside these walls will be the 80% who are broke, in debt, lacking in political/economic power. Inside the walls will be private armed security to keep the riff raff out, similar to feudalistic barrons who held the castles. This isn't the future, it's happening now If you look worldwide, the rich are feathering their nests with emense wealth. The Panama papers are just a peek into a world of economic wealth hoarding, where an estimated 32 trillion$$$ has been syphoned out of many countries in a successful effort to dry up tax bases. In London, New York, San Francisco, they are building high rise condos that cost millions that are expected to be used as luxury refugee camps for the wealthy. Most of them go unoccupied, they're there ''just in case''. Supply and demand only apply to the rich Economists say this will only worsen year by year, because wealth begets more wealth. This economic formula is an exclusionary society. They pull up the ladders of opportunity, slam the gates closed to the masses, arm the turrets. This is the end result of neo-liberalism, control of the markets by those who have the resources Outside will be hell, in fact these places already exist in America. Suburbia is fast becoming the graveyard of the once great middle class. Kids out of college saddled with lifelong loan debt, flipping burgers. Elderly folk who will be forced to live on no more than $1000 a month social security and food stamps. We're talking hundreds of millions of people in America alone The answer to exclusion is inclusion, the rebinding of the social contract, to pull together in lifeboat Earth, because we're taking on water. Humanity has to unite to solve the future, otherwise there is no future. If you look at the models, as the experts have, we are already standing at the edge, that we should have turned course over a decade back or more. It's too late for gradual, half measures, we need to hit the breaks NOW! That means an end to neo-liberal economic formulas NOW, not in a few years. That takes vision and leadership. America is at the front of the line, the world waits to see our next move I support Bernie Sanders because he is a strong step in that direction. I don't support Hillary because I see her as a person with a lack of vision, whose heart and mind stands with neo-liberalism, with corporatism, with the class she bought into. She won't hit the breaks, she will lean on the gas believe in science, global warming is a reality. Every year is a consecutive record breaker of high temperatures. Bernie is a thermometer to see how far left the Dems can go with their main constituency...he won't win. |

Hillary and Bernie are nothing alike. Bernie is honest and has integrity. . . . Bernie is too much of a sissy to end Humanity. |

I'm a little disappointed in this reply AI. I'd have taken you as a man that recognizes evil in all it's forms, from subtle to outright. |

Senility isn't the same as evil. And Bernie is right on trade. |

Bernie and Hillary's Senate voting records are nearly the same - and that's the only similarity between the two. |

Hillary is a neo-con, always has been, always will be. She's cut from the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld mold Bernie is the total opposite in that regard Expect her to screw up somewhere down the line, Im guessing Ukraine or China Edited by Attaburnsinhell, Apr 11 2016, 09:22 PM.

No. But I think Trump's trade policy would hurt us in the long run. It may do us some good short term, and I hope it will be short term. |

We always hear these cries about "All our clothes used to be made in the U.S.A!"... Yeah well, then we moved on to bigger things. Isolationist policy on economic matters as a long term thing is retarded. |

We do need trade with other nations, AI...I see protectionism as a tactic though...not a goal. If we ever want some modicum of peace in this world it will come by trade. Edited by OffensivelyOpenMinded, Apr 11 2016, 10:00 PM.

I'd say the same about Trump and Cruz. So, hows that work? When neither nominee has a prayer in the general election? |
