Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence.

Do that in major cities, leftists will declare war and burn it all down. Leftists are not know for responsible and efficient governing.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

With no one dependent on them liberals would have no reason to exist...they treat minorities like pet hamsters...it disgusts me....

It is easy when you are 10 years old. Try being a city that is 150 years old. Their infrastructure hasn't worn out. They probably haven't even had to replace a fire truck. Pension or retirement plans? In 10 years they wouldn't have anyone retiring.

Then look at the demographics. Suburban family without the problems of a real urban area. 100,000 is not that big of a city. Try scaling this to 1 million. Then look at the typical resident, median income in 2008 was $106,000 and average income was $116,000. Not only is Sandy Springs pretty small and manageable but it is a pretty rich city too. Makes managing it easy.

We've got a couple of townships in this area that are about that size, run their own services and are just has healthy financially.

Also to note, they don't run their schools, that is still Fulton County School District.

Why should they have pensions or firetrucks?

Or an educational monopoly?

In other words - why should a town that has privatized automatically run at the inefficiency of government?

You must not have watched the video. They did not outsource police, fire or management. They are running those like traditional city governments.

Pretty much nobody these days does pensions, they do 401K's. But if you are 150 years old, chances are you provided a pension in the past and it is those pensions that are causing problems. So being 10 years old is a distinct advantage in that area. Plus, only being around 10 years doesn't give you many if any retirees to deal with.

Well of course, what I have been saying

Dystopia is a description of the breakdown of civilization, a second dark ages, modern feudalism. It's when wealth will buy you safety within high walls, gated communities, expensive cities, out of reach of the non-rich majority. Outside these walls will be the 80% who are broke, in debt, lacking in political/economic power. Inside the walls will be private armed security to keep the riff raff out, similar to feudalistic barrons who held the castles. This isn't the future, it's happening now

If you look worldwide, the rich are feathering their nests with emense wealth. The Panama papers are just a peek into a world of economic wealth hoarding, where an estimated 32 trillion$$$ has been syphoned out of many countries in a successful effort to dry up tax bases.

In London, New York, San Francisco, they are building high rise condos that cost millions that are expected to be used as luxury refugee camps for the wealthy. Most of them go unoccupied, they're there ''just in case''. Supply and demand only apply to the rich

Economists say this will only worsen year by year, because wealth begets more wealth. This economic formula is an exclusionary society. They pull up the ladders of opportunity, slam the gates closed to the masses, arm the turrets. This is the end result of neo-liberalism, control of the markets by those who have the resources

There is a kind of evil logic behind all this for the rich

We are in lifeboat Earth. Inside the lifeboat are 20 rich people, comfy in their seats. Outside the lifeboat there are 80 people in the water, many off them clinging to the sides of the boat
The rich people, not wanting to give up their seats, beat the people clinging to the boat over their heads with their oars, expecting them to let go and drown

This is called social and economic Darwinism. Good for the rich, bad news for the non-rich

Oliver Porter served as the interim city manager for Sandy Springs and spoke about his experience in that role at a Mackinac Center for Public Policy “Issues and Ideas” forum in Lansing on Wednesday.

"I judge [city] success on two factors: efficiency and response to the public," Porter said. "Based on that, we've been a success."

Why do libs hate responsible gov't....it's as if they want corrupt, ineffective and non citizen centric gov't...which begs the question.....why?????
