I don't have a problem with trade..I just do not share your selective orthodoxy in regards to it. "Social contracts" can be used as a justification for slavery and moral hazards..but so can profit. You show any corruption in gubmint..I can demonstrate a private sector complicity in that corruption. Either is only as good as the humans administering it |

Profit is simply an excess wealth - a social contract is an obligation. Edited by estonianman, Apr 18 2016, 07:51 PM.

Exactly our point....you opt for two entities complicit...I opt for one and if the gov't not involved the market...or the gambinos take care of the other .... Atta's Venezuela didn't get there on the backs of free market trade...neither did the wealthy counties surrounding DC.... |

Whats the number one reason for corruption? Profit..personal or otherwise. Clone..can you rephrase your fist sentence..it doesn't really make sense to me But here is a thought on "Gambinos' I think the black market is pretty laizzez faire. Its not really regulated in any sense. And if regulations are applicable..bribes (profit for the willing recipient) and kickbacks can easily subvert that. Look at all the money made by the cartels..where do you think that money goes? http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/apr/03/us-bank-mexico-drug-gangs Do you think the bank execs care where that money comes from, ethically speaking? How many legit business ventures have been funded with black money? Look at the skyline of Miami for reference. The market does not care about money's origins..just the money itself..and do you think that this will all just dissipate if gubmint is taken from the equation..it would just take out one middle man. And the power vacuum would be filled by another entity. Edited by Mr. Tik, Apr 19 2016, 12:23 AM.

Human nature. That same behavior permeates government. |

Well duh Eliminating gubmint wont really change anything..the architecture may shift, but the dynamic will be the same. With gubmint gone..the personalities that are corruptible by power and money will gravitate to whatever fills that vacuum..most likely private interest. |
