At Least 7 Dead in Shootings at 3 Homes in Ohio; No Arrests http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/shootings-multiple-fatalities-reported-southern-ohio-38597291 At least seven people, including two children, have been slain in "execution-style" killings at three homes along a rural road, but no arrests have been made and it's unclear whether the killer or killers were among the dead, authorities said Friday. Attorney General Mike DeWine and Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader said all the victims are believed to be members of the same family. All were shot to death, they said. |

Update: http://www.wlwt.com/news/multiple-fatalities-reported-at-pike-county-home/39162210 “This is a horrible horrible tragedy," DeWine said on WLW. "It looks like two teenagers dead and it looks like young young children who must have been there when it occurred.” The young children were not killed, DeWine added. |

Looks like a "family anihilator" situation. Usually Dad pulls the tirgger. Guns are the instrument of choice as it is hard to look your child in the eye while cutting her throat. Unfortunately, the kids were unarmed and therefore defenseless. When will we ever learn? |

Don't know, it could be a feud with another family. 7 of the dead were adults while the 8th was a 16 y.o. boy. There were no signs of suicide, all were killed execution style. Apparently the family was well known in the area and sizable, coverage has shown many other family members gathering at a local church and the news said local law enforcement is protecting other family members. They are assuming the shooters are still at large. |

According to CNN: (CNN) — Investigators found three marijuana “grow operations” at rural residences where eight family members were slain in southern Ohio, state Attorney General Mike DeWine said Sunday at a news conference. Authorities wouldn’t say publicly whether they thought the killings were drug related, but an official with knowledge of the operation told CNN’s Nick Valencia: “This operation was not for personal use; it was for something much bigger than that. It was a very sophisticated operation.” ^ Motive behind this killing spree? (According to Ohio AG Mike DeWine--he's saying it was a 'pre-planned' execution.) |

Came across an article this morning that said police are looking in to the possibility that the executions were carried out by Mexican drug cartels.. |

Right about what? I suspect if it is true they flew into an Ohio airport and did not illegally cross the border. |
