Whatever, but of all the trillion of dollars humanity spend on bringing down an "estimated" temperature rise of 1.3 degree 100 years into the future, you don't the money is better allocated to other causes? |

A blog written by someone who doesn't understand what they're doing with data doesn't persuade me. Scientists correct data to make sure that records are consistent using proven maths techniques. A test against independent reference measurements shows that maths works. The changes made by scientists include things like accounting for time of day - to allow a fair comparison between measurement taken in the morning and afternoon, for example. Before adjustments, worldwide global warming since 1880 is about 1.2 C (2.2 F). Adjustments made by scientists reduce the reported global warming to about 0.9 C (1.6 F). Mozart, do you agree that 0.9 is smaller than 1.2?

Obviously you missed my previous post on the matter. And, you're a SCIENTIST! Shame on you. You should know better. Where did THOSE numbers come from? Hmmm? How accurate are they? Were ANY of these numbers reviewed by anyone, other than the sky-is-falling lobby? Crap numbers. Any graph, showing any temperature variation, can be created using crap numbers. Look at that chart! Holy Sh#t, the numbers are going up and up. Run for the hills! That's what the other SCIENTISTS are saying about NOAA numbers. Horse sh$t numbers. Do they really freaking KNOW what the world average temperature was way back in 1910? ..or 1932? ..or even 1962? Really? And, ah, what did they use back then to measure those temperatures, around the freaking world? Really? Some guy in 1932 Samoa stuck his finger in the air and said it was hotter/colder than usual that day? Does that make any sense to you? It's a mad, mad, mad, mad....world! (Er, by the way, are YOU in any way related to Terry Thomas...?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYWJvbMgpsg#t=11 Mozart Edited by W A Mozart, Apr 28 2016, 10:48 AM.

If you can do better, why don't you publish your work in a scientific journal? |

You think you know better than scientists but if you think it's done by a guy in Samoa sticking his finger in the air then you're just clueless. Despite not knowing anything about it, you're certain the scientists are wrong because you saw a video on YouTube. Is that fair summary? Here's a paper explaining how all of the uncertainty ranges are calculated. Here's the clearclimatecode project where volunteers checked and got the same answer. The International Surface Temperature Initiative databank gathers and explains old measurements. The Koch-funded Berkeley Earth project, including a Nobel-Prize-winning physicist said "the rise in average world land temperature globe is approximately 1.5 degrees C in the past 250 years". NASA agree. The Japanese Meteorological Agency agrees. The data and code are online and anyone can check. After a decade of trying the deniers have failed completely. Wait! I found another one of your experts! Maybe I was wrong to use the round-Earth assumption when calculating global warming. I'm a SCIENTIST. Shame on me. I should know better!: |

Your silly graph goes back to 1880...! Really? 1880...? My Samoan guy, ...well, ...his father at least, was measuring the weather using coconut shells. Really 1880? Or, ...even 1920...? or 1955...? They got this temperature thing right, ...around the world? This is complete madness.....! Mozart |

Dolph? May I call you Dolph? Ya see, many of the scientists are on OUR side of debate. Yup, hard to believe. You spend way too much time in the bunker, get outside and smell the flowers, ...keeps your silly mind from going batty. Mozart |

I spend plenty of time working with scientists, read a lot of papers, see a lot of conference presentations and spend my days working on satellite measurements of climate change. The 97% consensus among research papers is solid and the idea that there's a serious scientific debate that global warming is happening and mostly caused by us is a weird fantasy. You think not? Take a good sized, random sample of scientific research and find more than 3-4% of them rejecting it. Edited by Scim, May 2 2016, 12:11 PM.
