When leftists have a taste of their medicine, it doesn't end well; UC Berkeley rallied for $15 an hour but fired 500 workers afterward

Typical leftists behavior. Always wants someone else to do the dirty laundry but when asked for help, they run away.

Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

Drudge, you and the conservative allergy to a minimum living wage is the only part of your story that is factual.

The job elimination message comes as the campus is projecting a deficit of $150 million this fiscal year — 6 percent of its operating budget of $2.5 billion, which campus officials have blamed largely on state allocations that have not kept pace with campus needs.

Berkeley’s deficit was $109 million last year and $12 million in the 2013-14 fiscal year, campus officials told The Chronicle in February

UC Berkley has been losing money for years, these layoffs were already in the pipeline before the raise. There's no correlation shown, the authors are making assumptions

Not my problem they bid themselves out of the market.

Since they were working for minimum wage - there are millions of unskilled jobs available to them.

Don't drown in your own tears.

Wait a minute, didn't leftists say $15 was the pivotal moment for the $7.50 hour earners?
Second, why didn't these leftist board members volunteer to reduce their salary?
Third, if UC cannot afford to pay a living wage, how can they expect small businesses to do so?

I am always amazed at these smarter than thou moronic policy pushers appear stunned when their policies reap exactly what we rubes said they would sow...like they never saw it coming while we were telling them the entire way....

Obamacare? et al....

Minimum wage in 2256:

345 credits an hour.

Still not enough.

Minimum wage in Berkeley is eleven dollars an hour not seven-fifty.

And these connections to the layoffs and minimum wage are a dishonest Right Wing designed convenience.

Can't be much to all this conservative fuss over minimum wage if they need to be this dishonest to create their points.

Well lets see, conservatives running around screaming minimum wage is the direct cause of these layoffs.

Truth is it's not about minimum wage at all.

Yeah, define for me the honesty and the dishonesty here again.
