frontrunner Hillary Clinton says that if she’s elected president, at least half of her Cabinet will be women.

During a town hall hosted by MSNBC on Monday night, host Rachel Maddow asked Clinton whether she would match a campaign promise Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made good on earlier this year.

From the properly attributed link

"promised when he took office that he would have a Cabinet that was 50 percent women, and then he did it,” Maddow said. “Would you make that same pledge?”

“Well, I am going to have a Cabinet that looks like America,” the former secretary of state replied. “And 50 percent of America is women, right?”

She didn't say that, she said her cabinet would reflect America....you then jumped to the only qualification was gender. She also never said gender was a priority..do you always have this ability to see words in statements that no one else can see?

I suppose the men are also only considered because they are men?

I read the three title - because of who the author is I doubt it was distorted.

It's pretty clear that gender is a priority here.

And America is best reflected by individual merit - not gender quotas.

Gender shouldn't even be a qualifier.

She was asked a question and she answered the question. She did not construct the question.

Does this mean 50% will be conservatives?

I was going to criticize her when I read the title since I don't like anything but qualifications to play a role but - reading her comments - CT is right. She was asked and her response is understandable and reasonable.

You never hear the progressives pledge to make half of all garbage collectors of KIA in pointless middle eastern wars to be women. Why is that?
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

We may assume then that over half will not have a college degree in order to reflect America's educational attainment?

Let me guess what Clinton will say next... out of half those female cabinet members, 50% will be Black, 40% Hispanics, 5% whites, and 5% Asians.

I don't care what gender they are as long as they would be qualified to do the job. Stop focusing on gender.

And just how will her cabinet reflect America? C'mon, don't be so naive, her cabinet will reflect those she owes favors to or who will be a rubber stamp for her agenda - just like every other President has done...

If she wins, that's all you're going to hear for the next four years. At least you won't have to hear about race.

Somehow I imagine it would still come up because somehow that sort of thing matters in the positive or negative. I wouldn't want "faceless" people in Cabinet but it almost feels like it needs to be that way. Genderless, colorless, faceless. Just a list of why they are suited for the job and later on you find out who they actually are and it's like they're this or that but we already know whether or not they can do the job so it doesn't even matter anymore.
