Bush won a second term not because he was good.. but because Republicans were able to label the relatively unknown Kerry as a flip flopping anti military coward during a time of two wars.

Also the economy was good as it was being artificially propped up by the housing bubble
...like the Clinton economy which was propped up by the tech bubble... funny you don't mention that.

I will break my rule and make one prediction - lowest voter turnout in history, the people I talk to who aren't particularly interested in politics think these are the 2 biggest asshats to run for President in living memory.
Just living memory?

Well technically - the measures taken that you believe saved the economy happened at the end of Bush's term.
When did the Stimulus pass and what month did we stop losing 800,000+ jobs?
I'll give you one guess as to when the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 was signed into law...

Im pretty convinced at this point that Trump is in cahoots with the Clintons and the fix has been in since the beginning

Trump wanted to fill his bucket list by running for president for fun, but he had no intention of actually being president, nor did he believe he would be the frontrunner. He's been friends with the Clintons for years, and they both shared a common dislike for Obama

His plan was to go up on the debate stage and make fools of the repub candidates, because he knew they were exactly that, a bunch of clowns, easy marks he could rattle with insults, and it worked. He totally sank Jeb!, left him a sputtering pool of jello. That was supposed to be the #1 choice of the GOP establishment. After that the rest just imploded. Rubio, Fiorina, Carson all got the Trump treatment

What was supposed to happen was Hillary was to be coronated, while Trump would say horrible, outrageous things that would get him eliminted. But things went sideways. The more horrible, outrageous things he said, the more popular he got. So he kept it up, seeing how far it and his bloated ego could go. But he must know his chances are slim to none he'll win, he's antagonized, terrorized and insulted practically every group out there he would need to win

The question is what is his end game? Did his ego swell to the point that he thinks he actually has a chance?

Let's assume your hypothesis is correct; what do you think Trump would do if he actually wins it?
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

He'll be more surprised than anyone I'll bet

The math was set before anyone on either side announced they'd run. The electoral college said that the democrats would have like 256 of the 270 in the bag for 2016, with all the remaining battleground states in play, so the odds of a repub victory were like 1%

Hillary was considered the ''heir'' to the throne, but there was one problem. Hillary. She is probably the most disliked and distrusted politician in the country, and deservedly so. So to avoid her blowing it, there had to be someone even more repulsive and vile than her to run against.

Enter the Donald

Don't get too excited.

Every other poll taken for the last month has Hillary up. Only two say otherwise and both are by Rassmussen. If one pollster says X and six others say Y, it is usually Y. Not always but usually.

Still, Clinton is a horribly weak candidate. As bad as Trump is, he is not a guaranteed loser. Probably but not guaranteed.

If Clinton wins, her margin will be provided by the votes of immigrants and not real Americans.
By the votes of American voters. :unitedstates:
