Trump accuses Cruz's father of helping JFK's assassin
http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-gop-primary-live-updates-and-results/2016/05/trump-ted-cruz-father-222730

Donald Trump on Tuesday alleged that Ted Cruz’s father was with John F. Kennedy’s assassin shortly before he murdered the president, parroting a National Enquirer story claiming that Rafael Cruz was pictured with Lee Harvey Oswald handing out pro-Fidel Castro pamphlets in New Orleans in 1963.

A Cruz campaign spokesperson told the Miami Herald, which pointed out numerous flaws in the Enquirer story, that it was “another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage.”

From the article:
“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald's being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said Tuesday during a phone interview with Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don't even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”

“I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.”

This is how the mind of the Republican nominee for President thinks. President Obama was born in Kenya and Senator Cruz’s father was working with President Kennedy’s assassin.

Instead of reading policy briefs, Mr. Trump reads the National Enquirer. This must be an example of what makes America great....again.

The Sins of the Father are not the sins of the son....

Could it be Cruz's Father? Certainly.. a good chance.

Does it mean anything??

NO

Another non-issue

Trump needs to focus more so on the male vote. He should have nationalized the Boy Scouts when they decided to admit girls.

Mr. Trump seems to believe it is true. Why else would he make this claim?

In the general election, we can all expect Mr. Trump to bring up the National Enquirer articles claiming Hillary Clinton had Vince Foster murdered because he was Chelsea’s illegitimate father…. (another myth many conservatives believe)

Libbies love to bash the National Enquirer but it is one of the largest papers in the country with a history of breaking major news and conspiracy stories. Rarely has a NE story been shown to be false, but it is popular among snobs to dismiss its jouralism as mere "garbage" for the proles.

Trump didn't say the National Equirer story was true, only that it was of national significance and had not been conclusively disproved. Surely the silence from Sen. Cruz is deafening. The crackpot right is already turning on Mr. Trump the agitprop techniques it has been using against President Obama for eight years. This is an indication that Mr. Trump is not only going to be president, he is going to be a good one. God bless America :unitedstates:

Given that the elder Mr. Cruz is of Cuban birth and, at least initially, supported Castro's revolution, it seems likely that in the political environment of New Orleans, he might have indeed met Oswald. Old pictures may point to an association but I have seen nor heard nothing indicative of any reasonable connection to any of Oswald's other activities. A non issue and tabloid manure stirring. If there is no good story, print rumor.

They provide some pretty compelling evidence that Cruz kept many mistresses as well.

True. It would also be rather amusing that Trump would spread a rumor like that considering he likes to call Cruz "Lyin' Ted" constantly.

Yes, Cruz's father was a far-left activist, but the son did not inherit his father's political leanings. If you made a chart of Cruz and his father's political stance in this country you would find the son is not up there with his father but, rather, down and to the right...

Down and to the right...

Cruz's father fled to Canada to escape questioning by the FBI about the Kennedy assassination...His father delayed becoming a citizen until recently and became a preacher for fear of being charged for conspiracy in the assassination....Much of his life since 1963 was spent waiting for the smoke to clear....This is kind of being a ridiculous Cuban drama queen, as he is innocent of doing the assassination................. :usa:

Rafael Cruz, the graffiti artist, was a foe of the Batista regime - as were thousands of other Cuban's, especially the young. Sen. Cruz brought this on himself by attempting to paint his father as some kind of brave Revolutionary and confident to Castro. Not realizing it's a lot easier now for journalists to connect with the Cuban people via the internet and cell phones to assist in authenticating stories from even decades ago. Especially from those who knew Rafael Cruz best - his neighbors.

No wonder Trump calls him Lyin' Ted Cruz.

Which. like with so many of your brain droppings, has nothing to do with anything.

These seems to be damaging to both Cruz and Trump. Cruz will be damaged with his base through the association of his father with Oswald and Castro. Trump continues to show that he is the "reality-TV" candidate where everything goes and the more outlandish and outrageous the comment the better it is for ratings. I really don't think this will continue to play well into the general election. Yes, he will get the "reality-TV" vote but I think and hope that most American voters are more contemplative than that.

Dear media, please call out Trump on this: He’s a tinfoil-wearing conspiracy theorist — ignoring that is irresponsible

Trump is a full-blown crackpot, and journalists should be asking him about it every time he steps out of the house
