At the beginning of Trump's campaign, all predicted he had no chance...When the GOP and Democrat establishments attacked him, few predicted he could survive the media onslaught...Some even thought the Republican Party would stop him at the convention....The progressive activists will continue to claim no women or minorities will vote for him, until the day after the election.....

I knew that Trump would win when he came out against illegal immigration with fervor...Immigration is the biggest issue in this election, and all his opponents are out of step with citizens...We can expect a desperate Hillary to now propose using our military to drive the illegals out of the USA, using tanks and flamethrowers...... :rotflmao:

That's the way it has worked for 200 years, yes.

It seems to have created a pretty successful country up until now.

Immigration is the biggest issue in this election, and all his opponents are out of step with citizens...
Because "the citizens" are completely confused about the issue. Illegal immigration has been declining for a decade. Trump's wall would be keeping as many Mexicans from leaving the US as from entering. I'm not advocating for open borders, and would like to see current laws better enforced, but immigration has very little impact on most Americans.

The fervor is driven by emotion, not reason. The notion that immigration is crisis we have to deal with drastically, or that mass deportation will somehow radically improve jobs or the economy isn't supported at all.

Trumps policies, if he could get them passed (unlikely) would be recessionary.

Thank you. Yeah, I'm not feeling the whole "down with the establishment!" vibe at all. There's not much wrong with the status quo. other than voters have been ignoring real issues for about 30 years and letting government slack. All of a sudden they woke up and went "hey! things are messed up. It must be the brown guy's fault... or rich people... or foreigners or something" then ran out in a frenzy of misdirected populism and picked really bad candidates, while blaming "the system" put into place by the very people they voted for in previous elections.

The system isn't broken. We've just make questionable choices about who we let run it. That doesn't seem to be improving this cycle. We're just making different mistakes.
