We don't replant in fire-killed areas anymore. It's left to grow back naturally.

With average salaries being $80k/year (even secretaries make close to 50k) and property values being amongst the highest in Canada da po' folk would have no ability to put down roots.

Power and natural gas have been restored to most of the city as of yesterday. Assessments for rebuilding are underway.

The figure they have enough oil stockpiled to last another 3-5 weeks. If they can get the facilities back online within that time there will be no negative effect on the economy. If not then, yeah, you're right.
