Carson Says Trump Could Consider Democrat for Running Mate

Ben Carson, the former rival now helping presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump choose a running mate, said Thursday he doesn’t want the position and that Democrats may be among those considered.

“I’m not interested in doing that for a number of reasons,” Mr. Carson said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I don’t want to be a distraction. I’m sure you remember how crazy the media was about me, I don’t want to be a distraction, it’s too important a time in our life.”

As for the wide net being cast for candidates, he added: “We would consider people who are Americans and who put America first.”

Obviously, Donnie is having a problem finding a running mate Nikki Haley, and Susana Martinez both have rejected the offer.

Just guessing but it appears Trump wants a female VP, and for very good reasons.

Cruz ran against Trump with a female VP and got slammed in Indiana. Playing gender card won't make a difference.

Cruz was a dead man walking by the time he recruited Fiorina for her kamikaze mission.

Unless somebody answers the Donald's ad on Craig's List he'll be the first candidate in modern times to run without a Veep.

If playing the gender card won't make a difference - why does Trump insist on doing it? Recently he's accused Hillary of playing the women's card, simply because she's a female I suppose. While Trump has been recently saying he "respects" admires" and "cherishes" women." Could this sudden change of heart be because Trump has a 70% negative rating with female voters?

No, way Trump could possible be playing the gender card now is there? Posted Image

That's exactly right Cruz picking Fiorina as his running mate was clearly an act of political desperation - nothing more. It's amazing some don't realize that.

Probably so. I've had my fill of so-called liberals and progressives saying they would support Trump if Bernie doesn't get the nomination.

Sanders would never in a trillion years be Trump's running mate. You've got to find someone willing to do the job. Sanders won't. As for a Democrat or a female, neither would surprise me. Trump will locate someone somewhere. It won't be Bernie though.

Running with Trump basically ensures you're not going to have much of a career afterwards, the big fish don't want him and they aren't going to let you get anywhere.
