| Pamela Elliott was the new sheriff in town. But instead of law and order, she brought chaos. | |

The first thing she noticed was Sheriff Pamela Elliott standing across the street. It was an August evening in 2014, and Rachel Gallegos had just gotten home for a meeting of the Edwards County Democratic Party. The law enforcement official was a highly unlikely candidate for a session with local Democrats. Edwards County — Rocksprings is the county seat — is solidly Republican, and Elliott is militantly conservative. https://www.texasobserver.org/above-the-law-pamela-elliott-sheriff/ |

Public Service Announcement Rock Springs should be avoided at all cost. Drive 100, 200, 300 miles out of your way if you have to, but NEVER drive through Rock Springs. |

Fortunately, it appears that Rock Springs is not on the way to anywhere ... |

Wow, it sounds like the Texas Attorney General needs to step in with Texas state law enforcement but given the political makeup of Texas i doubt that will happen. Sooner or later the feds will have to get involved. The voter intimidation is particularly troubling. |

MM. The experience I had 25 years ago, with Edwards County Deputy Sheriffs is something I would wish on no one. I've encountered literally dozens and dozens of Texas local and state LEO's in my years and NEVER, (with the exception of these cedar chopping rednecks), have I ever felt the least bit threatened or intimidated. |
