How much would Trump's white followers reverse in Civil Rights
Topic Started: May 6 2016, 06:47 PM (2,895 Views)

While there is no doubt that the sickness of racism has always been present Mr. Trump has made such poison a point of pride for his followers. No longer just the low point of conservatism in 2016 they are determined to mainstream what would be the low point of a modern nation with their determination to turn back whatever progress has been made to cross and wipe out race barriers along with the rebirth of hate without reason such racism promotes.

A nation painfully growing up over 200 plus years comes to a stagnating halt. Trump's legacy already.

I'm not a Trump supporter but this is a genuine question that our society needs to address. And I do understand the frustration of many who are getting awfully tired of the sort of nonsense that is now being justified under the guise of "civil rights" marching forward which has turned from necessary reforms to correct real wrongs into a club to batter people over the head with. An obsessive concern with "civil rights" and finding "discrimination" under every rock and behind every tree has become yet another form of extremism, not much different than the white racists who push their own forms of radicalism. That anger is part of what's feeding Trump. And, yeah, bluntly, a lot of that is the fault of the left who have gone from fighting for the rights of minorities to fighting against the rights of pretty much everyone else. Trump is part of the backlash to that.

What we need is a coherent standard for when the government should involve itself in matters of civil rights. In my opinion, it could be if the matter at hand presents a clear, compelling government interest because a given form of discrimination is either so common and widespread that it is substantially burdening people in the normal course of life or pertains to an area of life so essential or important that such a burden could be created. The discrimination should also have to be intentional.

Housing? Yes.
Employment? Yes.
Medical care? Yes.
Marriage rights? Yes.
Wedding cakes? No.
The Elauf employment case? No.
Offensive speech? No.
PC nonsense at universities? No.
Hobby Lobby worried about birth control? No.

If a compelling social interest and a substantial burden cannot be shown, then government should stay out of everyone's life.

Leftists claimed that Bush was eroding their civil rights after 9/11 because of the Patriot Act. They can't name a right that was lost. Obama extended the Patriot Act. Leftists still cannot name a civil rights they lost. So tell us Mr. T, you think Trump will take away you civil rights?
You can't answer a question with a question, age old tactic, please address the Topic please.
You know what you can do with your race baiting OP, don't you?

This is the great republican who wants the illegal hordes to pour across the country's open borders and overwhelm the whites.

You Trump supporters who fall for this crap and give his garbage legitimacy should ask him how American workers are going to keep affording to pay for these non white illegal hordes in terms of social services and not feel obligated to pay because he claims his ancestors were partially exterminated by yours.

Then point out he's supporting Hillary Clinton to keep the entitlement mentality going until there is no more white middle class.

Too bad I have to speak in terms of white and non white but that is all he ever does with his collective revenge he wants on anybody white and not ashamed of it and politically incorrect enough to support Trump.

Close the GD borders and enforce the law and don't let him intimidate you with his race card while you support doing it.

Right up until he argues that discrimination against homosexuals or other minorities is peachy keen as long as it's about things he considers unimportant.

So, would you be fine with all the bakeries in town saying they won't sell you a wedding cake, or any other commodity or service they're providing to the general public, because you're Native American? And if so, why would you support being considered a second class citizen?

Arguing that someone should have the freedom to do something is not the same thing as arguing that such a thing is peachy keen.

And yes, when something is unimportant, it shouldn't be the object of legislation.

That doesn't seem an odd view.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Again, didn't answer the question, hey, if you don't like being put on the spot, you didn't have to answer clone, I get it, it's an uncomfortable question. You truly feel that to try and reverse 3 centuries of oppression implies you are discriminated, so my question to you, what aspect of civili rights legislation would you have removed in order to make you feel comfortable again
I would get rid of it all....set black and brown folk free...stop treating them like handicapped children....it's an insult to the intelligence of minorities. A disrespect to minorities capabilities. The liberal prejudging minority groups as inferior intellectually and politically has to stop....it disgusts me...
Racists like this just want to go back to a simpler time when racist whites were free to deny blacks, and anyone else who wasn't cool, things like housing, education, medical services, loans for home and business, and the simple dignity of being human. Yeah, that will definitely help.

I mean, it's no secret that a percentage of his followers, including clone and AI apparently have made statements regarding whites being oppressed in some fashion. Trump's main demographic is the angry white male ages 20-45, blue collar.

So I'd like for them to supply with me an actual answer, and this is a serious question just in case you've asked. I mean, how much of Civil Rights Legislation would you want thrown out, what progress made toward equality do you wish to see reversed, because that would have the effect of tossing out Civil Rights legislation?
Wth 5 hardcore Scalia type Supreme Court justices, expect only white home owners will be allowed to vote in the 2020 election

Ahmmmm...I wasn't referring at all to the Border with Mexico or illegal aliens? And no, I"m not for Open Borders, perhaps there was something you missed in in reading my post that indicated that?

My post had nothing to do with illegal Hispanics, nor how to pay for social services, etc, etc, etc. Talk about a one trick pony...your rant had nothing to do with my original thread topic?

No, I don't want revenge on anyone who is white??? Where are you getting this absurd notions of yours?

I realize it's a stretch for you to act like a mature adult, but do try.

One last thing...closing the border with Mexico will not prevent illegals from entering, they wil simply find another means to do so, but that is neither here nor there, it does not address inequalities within the 33% of Hispanic-Americans who have lived in this country since before the founding of the Republic, you do realize that the Southwest was originally the territory of the Kingdom of Spain, and after that the Republic of Mexico?

What rights has Trump proposed to do away with?
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

What rights has Trump proposed to do away with?
It begins when you single out groups based on religion or heritage for special scrutiny outside of how you treat others.

It's exactly why we are advised to stay vigilant.
