WASHINGTON (AP) -- In the event that the U.S. economy crashed, Donald Trump has floated a recovery plan based on his own experience with corporate bankruptcy: Pay America's creditors less than full value on the U.S. Treasurys they hold. Experts see it as a reckless idea that would send interest rates soaring, derail economic growth and undermine confidence in the world's most trusted financial asset. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee suggested in a phone interview Thursday with CNBC that he would stimulate growth through borrowing. If trouble arose, he added, he could get investors to accept reduced payments for their Treasury holdings. Trump later clarified that comment to say he would offer to buy the bonds back at a discount from investors in hopes of refinancing them at lower rates. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-proposal-national-debt-send-184432030.html# |

That's how Trump got to be a billionaire - you can throw fraud into the equation also. |

This is a valid criticism of Trump's DOMESTIC economic plans...One should not negate, though, his international economic "trickle up" to America agenda with America FIRST....The big banks, multinational corporation, Wall Street, and foreigners have done everything they could to drain wealth from the USA..............

Don't kid yourself thinking Trump is in it for helping America prosper. He is in it for himself getting richer. He may be thinking of being the first trillionaire in the world. |

Nonsense. That would be a disaster too. Trump's entire economic approach is recessionary. |

We've had some bad presidents over the years but...sweet Jesus... The United States economy is the most powerful financial force on the planet, not some failed hotel/casino that you can reorganize under bankruptcy laws. This guy makes George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter look like economic geniuses. I mean, if I were a big Wall Street guy and I had a choice between Bernie Sanders and this boob, Sanders might actually be a better choice. He'd try to regulate and tax you to death but most of what he wants to do would die in Congress. By contrast, imagine if Trump were president and actually ran around talking about crazy crap like this. He could destabilize the whole system just by suggesting something this idiotic - much less doing it.

Unfortunately for the gatekeepers, they have no more credibility in telling anyone about responsibility after wrecking the nation. |

If this act were stale, Donald Trump wouldn't have won more votes than any other Republican nominee in history.

Trumponomics would be a disaster. Almost everything he's suggested would be recessionary and deficit swelling. |
