http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/conservatives-worry-about-direction-of-party-under-trump/ For a lot of angsty conservatives, there’s more to worry about than just Donald Trump. There’s the future of the conservative movement to consider. The soul-searching over what to do with the Republican Party’s presumptive presidential nominee includes a broader debate over who gets to define conservatism. |

Conservativism stands for nothing. It's an ideology long past its prime based on the opinions of false profits who have ignored the middle-class for decades while they preach religious and racial intolerance while they start unnecessary wars they can't finish in the name of corporate profits. Wars that are designed to enrich the 1% while the other 99% pays in blood. I truly feel sorry for anyone naive enough - no make that stupid enough to call themselves a conservative because you stand for nothing. Even Barry Goldwater realized this later in life. But his dream lives on in the minds of the politically disillusioned racists, theocrats and right-wing radicals that have taken over the party. RIP GOP |

The Republican Party as we know it is kaput. The brand isn't going to disappear but the organization is going to be rebuilt from the ground up. The funny thing is that our two-party system is like a kiddie see-saw: change at one end produces change at the other. the reformation of the GOP will involve a reformation of the Democratic Party as well. Pardon my Marxism, but the key to understanding what transformations are already underway (i.e. the Great Revolution of the Suburban Proletariat that I've been telling you about for years) is class. |

Libertarians don't really exist outside of fantasy worlds and fiction novels. Every one of you guys that think you are a libertarian are depending on a support system, a socialist support system. You do get to choose your support system. |

All the living past Presidents are old, crotchety, and jealous of Trump....He is not selling his soul to become President like they did...Trump is laying waste to the Establishment that ran America for decades....This is not your father's election.........

Trump has a soul? Unlikely.
Trump IS the establishment. Instead of paying off politicians, he's becoming one. You're not reducing corruption, you're vertically integrating it. Edited by nNeo, May 8 2016, 07:43 PM.

Donald Trump's mission is to save the Republican Party, much as Napoleon saved the French Revolution. His remark that, although he is a conservative, the party is the Republican Party, not the Conservative Party, shows a sophisticated understanding of what he is about that clearly is over the heads of the right wing commentariat and most of Trump's own supporters. The GOP is now riven by an ideological split between the TEA Party and the neo-con, reaganist establishment. The sad fact is that neither of these wings is capable of remaining viable in the face of a changing America. Trump is an utter pragmatist, dedicated to the preservation of the Republican ideals of small government and strong national defense tempered by the understanding that unless the customers (voters) like what you are selling, you can't win. The voters want more money and they blame foreigners and foreign trade for the their problems. They hate big government and its giveaways but they love Social Security. The hate Obamacare but love Medicaid and Medicare. The recent generation of GOP leaders has failed utterly to knit these disparate strands into a winning banner. Give Trump a chance. He is the best hope you've got. |

Yur justa nuther maroon iffin you believe that!!! A period of pure isolationism, whar we use all our available resources to improve the condition of these United States, will result in the reaffirmation of these United States as the one an only global superpower!!! We can then just walk in an annex all of the western hemisphere, while watchin the east crumble to a point whar they'll be nuthin but low hangin fruit!!! Now we're talkin NWO fur real!!! |
