So you support North Carolina bathroom law? |

Given all the rightist perverts there seem to be in the world, I don't blame my fellow leftists for their shyness. I wouldn't want you checking out my junk in the men's room either. |

Good guys wear white hats

You see, to me, the Brown Shirts are the ones that are DEMANDING that we shift the focus of the conversation. They say that I am a racist, or a homophobe because I don't think it's OK for a man to say, "Gee, i will put on a dress and go into the women's room" They are so concerned about folks being tolerant of diverse opinions; except when they are being intolerant of MY opinions See how that works? That's why I call them "Brown Shirts" or the "thought police"; and they have Big Brother helping them enforce their views restrictions on free speech and freedom of expression are coming to a state or small town near you - yes we can! |

That might work if I were willing to dress up like a woman and behave like a woman, but Drudge would probably just follow me into the women's room. |

We are tolerant of your opinion, we just don't agree with you. And you've not made a compelling argument for your opinion being correct. Transgender people have been sharing restrooms without major incident for as long as there have been public restrooms. Male perverts aren't going to be suddenly flocking into women's bathrooms claiming that they "identify" as a woman when they've taken no other steps to establish their identity as female. Maybe, and this is just an idea here, we should stop trying to oppress those who aren't causing anyone any harm and just want to be left in peace to live their lives as best they can because we're afraid that a completely different group of people might try to use the situation to their advantage? It seems like if pervert men are the problem, maybe we should be harassing men rather than transgenders? I mean, if we're going to harass entire groups of people based on the possibility of some of them being potential criminals and all... |

I don't think anyone is upset that transgendered/gay/different colored people make you feel a certain way. They are upset that you support a law that purports to prevent a crime that statistically nobody is committing and is already illegal all while placing a serious public indignity on people who just want to be left alone. It upsets people because at that point you have gone beyond merely thinking. Writing and supporting laws are actions. |

How much of a problem was it before republicans decided to make this an issue? Clearly there have been numerous cases reported for you people to react the way you are... |

There was a reason for the law...Charlotte ordinance....btw How many women would be happy to share a locker room or shower with a transgender woman who has male sexual organs? |

The reason you can't answer the question is b/c this wasn't an issue. Republicans making dumb laws should be impeached from office... |

The law pertains to bathrooms. That aside the NC law only applies to Government owned facilities where in the case of changing shower areas would only be public schools and state colleges. In those cases special accommodations would be met, at least it always has. Sure a parent would not want their daughter standing naked next to a naked trans female with a penis, as much as a parent would not want their son standing naked next to a trans female with 38DD breasts in a mens changing area. |
