http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/08/politics/donald-trump-gop-civil-war/index.html Donald Trump is poised to breeze through another round of primary contests this week -- while the Republican Party splinters around him. Trump's ascent to the top of the GOP, which was capped last week with Ted Cruz's devastating loss in the Indiana primary, happened so fast that even the billionaire himself was surprised. And the whipsawed party establishment now faces immediate choices -- none of which particularly appeal to them. Will they unite behind their party's standard-bearer? Will they sit out the 2016 campaign? Or will they fight on, in a quixotic quest to undermine Trump? Trump's opponents are still sorting through the wreckage of the GOP primary season for a path forward. But it has become painfully clear over the past five days that party unification will be tough to come by, if it happens at all. Past presidents, party leaders and prominent Republicans are all choosing sides, from unenthusiastic acceptance (Bob Dole) to pledges not to vote for either party in November (former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Lindsey Graham) to musings about a third-party bid (Bill Kristol). Trump himself enters his first full week as the presumptive nominee by signaling that he has limited patience for or interest in the establishment's rebellion. He'll meet Thursday with Paul Ryan, after the House speaker's extraordinary announcement to CNN's Jake Tapper that he's "just not ready" to support Trump. |

Trump will cull the Republican herd and make it healthier and stronger....That is not good for the Democratic Party...Democrats appear to be stuck on their version of Sarah Palin, another proven loser.........

GOP leadership isn't totally stupid. They already know Hillary has numerous paths to the nomination and a significant state by state advantage while Trump only has two paths to the presidency. They are: Convince the 70% of the female voters who refuse to support him - and the 73% of the minorities who refuse to support him that he's not such a bad guy after all.![]() |

Dems prove that time and time again.... The bottom line is that when a business is failing, the owners and shareholders don't go into hate-filled rants about their customers on the internet, they try to win them back. The GOP has been getting bad "customer service surveys" from their customers for years now and have been ignoring it, assuming that they have a monopoly. Now there's competing business which has opened and instead of trying to win their customers back, they're alienating them further and trying to sabotage the competition. Doomberg |

He just pivoted on taxes and minimum wage. He's not going to keep any of his original promises, he just said that for GOP nomination which he already got so no need to keep them. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/05/09/trump-shows-flexibility-on-taxes-minimum-wage-in-turn-toward-november.html?intcmp=hpbt2 |

He sure has. When he first jumped in I was hoping that he would at least make it to the first debate. I only expected him to be a minor but hilarious distraction to the Republican primary. Whoda thunk he'd win it? Bill and Hillary are geniuses if they are behind Trumps candidacy. They would deserve the win for that right there.. |
