'We Could Have Been There': Squadron Member Speaks Out on Stalled Benghazi Response
By Adam Housley - May 12, 2016

His squadron got the alert: a “real world mission was going down.” The team – at Aviano Air Base in northeastern Italy – raced to the field and was briefed, as planes were armed and prepared to launch. Hundreds of miles away, fellow Americans were under attack in Benghazi. "There were people everywhere. That flight line was full of people, and we were all ready to go” to Benghazi, he said.

Only they were waiting for the order. It never came.

And Ronald Reagan sold missiles to Iran and got 241 marines killed in Lebanon. Benghazi was tragic, but come on man you've got to get a life.
Reagan was wrong too.

Don't shoot the messenger, I didn't write the article.
Yeah, you just dispense derpaganda.
You may be a conservative republican..if you are pro life until you get your mistress knocked up

Everything a president does is political. It's what the opposition does with the political mistake that matters most. The Repubs have made the word Benghazi a political megaphone for anti-Hillary rhetoric. What Reagan did in the Middle-east was a huge mistake and pales in comparison to what Hillary did as Sec of State. Hardly anyone knows what Reagan did because Democrats have a little more respect for themselves. The Repubs are pigs.
Hillary lied (lies still today) to congress about the entire matter.
If Hillary lied why didn't Congress censure her? Sounds like you just hate her and all you know how to do is lie about her, and post bogus articles. Anyway I'm sure she has some faults, but when the choice is between Hillary Clinton and Donny Tramp there's no contest. The tramp is a serial liar, a narcissist, a racist, a braggart, a fraud and would be very dangerous commanding our military.

Typical Fox. The initial attack was over by the time they would have been able to arm and go. Then there is the little problem of getting back. They would have needed tanker support.

Debunked by Congressional investigation. A Repub led Congress.

Yep. Even the Republicans eventually gave up on the nonsense about the mythical squadron that could have magically saved the embassy staff.
Maybe not saving the entire staff but at least a chance is better than zero. Had the security were not given the stand down order, not all four Americans would be dead.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

Why not? Kerry lied on just about his entire experience in Vietnam.

Purple heart for superficial wounds on his butt. Spending Christmas in Cambodia when he wasn't even near the border.

No there would have been a couple more dead. The security guys at the annex wanted to leave on their own, one or two at a time. Instead their local commander told them to hold (not stand down) until the whole group was organized and he attempted to get local militia support to bolster their numbers. One or two guys running through the streets of Benghazi which was full of hostiles by then not knowing what they were facing was a recipe for disaster.

They weren't "there" they were in Italy and they were a single point in a very big and complex system. But then the Right has a propensity to listen to single point data sources.
