http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2016/05/12/federal-court-obamacare-president-obama-republicans/84281474/ Republicans won the first round Thursday in a separation of powers battle against President Obama that once again focuses on his most prized achievement: Obamacare. Federal district Judge Rosemary Collyer, a Republican appointee, ruled that the law did not provide for the funds insurers need to make health insurance policies under the program affordable. While the law provides for tax credits, she said, it does not authorize an appropriation for slashing deductibles and copayments. Without those reductions from insurers, many consumers could not afford to buy insurance. |

This is a big step forward. Hilary has just revived her support for the public option. We are inching toward that fork in the road that Republicans have been eagerly awaiting: we are going to go Medicare for All or Scrap the Whole Thing. I wonder which the voters will chose. |

This is a very odd lawsuit, even by Republican standards. The House of Representatives is suing the Secretary of HHS for their own failure to appropriate additional funds. If they win, it does not change the ACA in any way. The only result is that a million or so people below the poverty line will see a raise in their health insurance cost because the Congress did not appropriate the “increase”. Why would they want people, whose household income is below the poverty line to pay more for health insurance? They have truly lost their minds. This makes less sense than voting for Mr. Trump. |

Agreed. This is a good thing for the US. If the Repubs ever get Obama Care taken down, then there will be a YUGE outcry for something better to replace it. And guess what..... single payer is the only way to go for a truly affordable health care system. |

Single payer is a liberal wet dream that would be good for America, if we can print more money out of thin air to pay it.............

If you'd ever been in the military or lived overseas you'd know that it is not such a bad deal and a lot cheaper than for-profit corporate run health care.
